Vietnamese bodybuilding competes impressively at world championship

The 2023 World Bodybuilding Championships will take place from November 6 to 12 in Korea, with the participation of nearly 300 athletes from 39 countries and territories.

Pham Van Mach won the world championship at the age of 47

The Vietnamese team has 22 athletes (13 men, 9 women), competing in 26/51 events. The medal-winning potential of Vietnamese athletes in the women's events: Bodybuilding, classical, fitness; mixed doubles and men's bodybuilding events in the light weight categories: 55kg, 60kg, 65kg and 70kg.

On November 9, Vietnamese athletes competed impressively, winning 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 3 bronze medals. Notably, athlete Pham Van Mach overcame many strong opponents to win the gold medal in the men's 55kg category. This is the 6th time in his career that the athlete from An Giang has won the world championship. It is worth mentioning that Pham Van Mach is 47 years old this year, and this achievement will be a great source of motivation for him to continue pursuing his passion.

Pham Van Mach's colleague and compatriot Dinh Kim Loan also won the gold medal in the women's 55kg category, her third world championship title after her victories in 2015 and 2017. Along with that, Vietnamese bodybuilding also succeeded in many other events. Specifically, 3 athletes Tran Bao Quoc Vuong (men's 65kg category), Ho Huy Binh (men's 70kg category) and Nguyen Thi Kim Dung (women's fitness, height up to 1m65) brought home 3 more gold medals, bringing the total number of gold medals of the Vietnamese delegation on the first day of competition to 5.

Meanwhile, the 5 silver medals of Vietnamese bodybuilding were brought back thanks to Bui Dac Phi Vu (bodybuilding, men's 55kg category), Truong Hoang Long (bodybuilding, youth 75kg men's), Tran Hoang Duy Thuan (men's fitness, height up to 1m70), Tran Thi Cam Tu (women's fitness, height up to 1m65) and Bui Thi Thoa (bodybuilding, women's over 55kg category).
