Another green solution in the construction materials industry at ENTECH HANOI 2025

DUON Energy One of Korea will bring to ENTECH HANOI 2025 Exhibition (June 25-27) Echo Green Coats, a heat-reflective paint developed to reduce building temperature and save energy.

Talking to VietnamPlus reporters about this product, DUON Energy One representative, Mr. Peter Kim, affirmed that the company's solution will expand the choice of environmentally friendly construction materials in the context of Vietnam promoting green urban development and efficient energy use.

Technology solutions for hot cities

Echo Green Coats is a water-based paint designed to reflect solar radiation, especially infrared rays – the main cause of heating up building surfaces. According to a representative of DUON Energy One, the product can reduce roof temperatures by 18–19°C and help make the interior space of the building 3–5°C cooler than usual.

“It’s not just insulation, it’s preventing heat from entering from the outside. Echo Green Coats acts like a mirror reflecting the sun, thereby significantly reducing the heat on the building’s surface,” said Peter Kim, CTO of DUON Energy One.

According to Mr. Peter Kim, practical tests in Korea and Vietnam show energy savings of up to 23%, equivalent to about 13 million VND within 6 months for standard apartment buildings.

Echo Green Coats can be used for many items such as concrete roofs, outdoor walls, factory floors and public works. With more than 45 standard colors, the product meets the aesthetic and technical requirements in modern designs.

“We design products that are suitable for many spaces. The product has high adhesion and can be used on many types of surfaces. This is a solution that can be widely applied to both civil houses and public works,” Mr. Peter Kim emphasized.

The paint has been used in many projects in Korea such as subway stations, stadiums and administrative buildings, where high durability and heat reflection are required.

Accompanying Vietnamese enterprises in green urban development

Echo Green Coats was developed by DUON Energy One since 2010 and is now patented, with a series of certifications in Korea and internationally such as KS, DGSU, and environmental certifications.

The product has passed a 205-hour durability test – five times the standard for conventional paints – and is designed to withstand the harsh conditions of hot, humid Southeast Asia.

DUON Energy One said it is looking for partners in Vietnam for distribution, production cooperation and technology transfer. The company expects the product to serve well in public works such as schools, hospitals, social housing as well as large-scale private real estate projects.

“We not only want to sell products, but also want to accompany Vietnam in developing green and energy-saving urban areas. Technology transfer and on-site production cooperation are our strategic goals in this market,” Mr. Peter Kim affirmed.

Prospects in the Vietnamese market

Vietnam is currently considered one of the potential markets for smart building materials, in the context of policies on smart cities, green buildings and energy saving being promoted.

DUON Energy One is pursuing testing and certification procedures in Vietnam to ensure that its products are suitable for local climatic conditions and technical requirements. The company’s market strategy includes competitive pricing and building a technical support network for partners.
