The Traffic Police Department (C08, Ministry of Public Security ) announced that from June 1, it will officially apply a new set of theoretical questions in the national road motor vehicle driving license (GPLX) examination. This is an important transition from the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) to the Ministry of Public Security in the management of training, testing and issuing of driving licenses.
The new set of questions still retains the same number of 600 questions as the set previously compiled by the Ministry of Transport , but the content of many questions has been edited and supplemented to better suit reality and new legal regulations related to road and railway traffic safety.

Accordingly, the questions in the new set of questions are divided into 6 chapters including: 180 questions on general regulations and road traffic rules; 25 questions on traffic culture, driver ethics, fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue skills; 58 questions on driving techniques; 37 questions on structure and repair.
There are also 185 questions about road signs; 115 questions about solving traffic situations and skills to handle traffic situations.
The Traffic Police Department noted that in the set of 600 questions, there are 60 questions about handling serious traffic safety situations. Each test has one question about handling serious traffic safety situations. Candidates who choose the wrong answer for this question will be considered as failing, and the theory test will not meet the requirements.

The exam structure is also clearly defined depending on each license level. Levels A1, A2 and B1 automatic have 25 questions, candidates must answer at least 21 questions correctly and not make mistakes in the zero-point questions. Levels B1 and B2 have 35 questions, requiring at least 32 correct answers with the condition of zero-point questions. Levels C, D, E, F have 40 questions, candidates must answer at least 37 questions correctly and not make mistakes in the zero-point questions. The test time is still maintained from 15 to 20 minutes depending on the level.
This innovation means that candidates must completely change the traditional way of studying. Learning by trick, rote learning or simply reviewing theory will no longer be effective and can even lead to failure due to incorrect questions or not understanding real-life situations. Candidates need to focus on comprehensive review, focusing on practicing situational questions and skills to handle danger.
