Nearly 116,000 candidates officially participated in the entrance exam for 10th grade in Hanoi's public schools. Yesterday (June 10th), students took the Literature exam in the morning and the Foreign Language exam in the afternoon.
For the Foreign Language exam, candidates can choose one of the following languages: English, French, German, Japanese, or Korean. Candidates may register to take an exam in a foreign language different from the one they are studying at their junior high school.
On the morning of June 11th, students took the Math exam, with a time limit of 120 minutes. The exam was graded on a 10-point scale, with a weighting factor of 2.
This is a relatively difficult exam. Hanoi has 117 public high schools and is recruiting approximately 72,000 students for 10th grade. Based on this quota, nearly 60% of students will secure a place in a public high school.
