Logo Design Contest for the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha organized a logo design contest for the 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha will host the 20th United Nations Day of Vesak from May 7-10, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City. The Secretariat of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Council said that the Sangha is organizing a logo design contest for the 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak in Ho Chi Minh City.

The requirement is that the logo should express the spirit of compassion and wisdom of Buddhism, the spirit of engagement of Vietnamese Buddhism; affirm the tradition of national solidarity of Vietnamese Buddhism; the role and great contributions of Vietnamese Buddhism in the thousands of years of history of protecting the nation and the people, accompanying the nation, contributing to the historic victory of April 30, 1975, the cause of national liberation and unification of the country.

In addition, the logo must reflect the main theme of the Festival, which is “Solidarity, Unification, and Cooperatives: Buddhist Insights for World Peace and Sustainable Development”.

Contestants include monks, nuns, Buddhists, and people who love Buddhism nationwide; domestic organizations and individuals.

The entries must be highly symbolic, unique, creative, and not duplicate any other logos in the country or abroad. The logo must be accompanied by the words: UN VESAK 2025. Each entry must be accompanied by a brief description of the creative idea. Each author can submit no more than 5 entries.

Entries should be submitted as JPEG files with a size larger than 3MB and smaller than 6MB, sent to: [email protected] and [email protected] with the title: “UN Vesak 2025 Logo”.

In case of submitting multiple entries, the entries are uploaded to google.drive (for photos), then the link is sent to the Organizing Committee's email. The email sending the link must clearly state: Author's full name, dharma name (if any), phone number, and contact address for the Organizing Committee to easily contact.

The time to receive entries is from September 15 to September 25, 2024. Entries must be sent to Office 2 of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Quang Duc Zen Monastery, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. Contact number 0982760624 (Venerable Thich Minh Nhan, Deputy Head of Office 2).

The award ceremony for selected works and the official logo announcement is expected to be held on September 27, 2024, at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City, Le Minh Xuan campus, Binh Chanh district.

The Organizing Committee will award 1 first prize (worth 15 million VND) and 2 consolation prizes (worth 3 million VND) along with a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to the winning works.
