On the afternoon of May 24, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee coordinated with the People's Court of Sa Pa town to organize a "Mock Trial" to disseminate laws on ensuring traffic order and safety at High School No. 2 of Sa Pa town.

Nearly 500 students from Sa Pa Town High School No. 2 attended the mock trial.
Topic of mock trial: Public first instance trial of a criminal case involving a student for the crimes of "Violating regulations on road traffic participation" and "Allowing an unqualified person to drive a vehicle to participate in road traffic".
Summary of hypothetical situation:
On the occasion of his son's birthday, the father prepared rice and wine for his son to invite his friends to the party. Although he knew his son had just been drinking with his friends, the father still lent him his motorbike to go out. While driving, the son did not wear a helmet, drove on the wrong side of the road, swerved, and caused a traffic accident that killed the woman driving the motorbike in the opposite direction.
After a morning of trial, the People's Court of Sa Pa town sentenced the son to 2 years and 9 months in prison and the father to 1 year and 3 months of non-custodial reform.


Through the "Mock Trial" to widely propagate, raise awareness, self-consciousness of law enforcement on traffic order and safety among the people, especially among union members, youth, students; form standards, civilized behavior, in accordance with the rules of the law, contributing to reducing traffic accidents in the province;educate and deter traffic law violations by teenagers, students.
The trial fully reflected the defendant's criminal behavior, the legal provisions and the sentence applied, thereby helping young people, pupils and students in the province better understand the activities of those who hold the scales of justice, know the boundary between right and wrong, the strictness of the law, contributing to raising awareness of traffic law compliance among young people, building a law-abiding society, ensuring security and order in the area.
