In 2023, Yahya applied to enter ZC, Egypt’s leading public institution for higher education, research and innovation. To become the school’s youngest student, he had to take exams in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and English equivalent to a high school diploma and pass an interview with the school board.
Professor Salah Obayya, general manager of ZC, said: "Despite his age and academic background, Yahya met the exam criteria, becoming the youngest student to pass the exam.
The ZC entrance exam is also very difficult for senior high school students, making them struggle to complete it. Yahya is truly a genius to be able to pass the ZC entrance exam at the age of 12."

Professor Mahmoud Abdrabou - acting President of ZC - said that the school will help Yayha adapt to his new life, overcome difficulties when skipping grades and encourage the male student to participate in clubs and student union activities.
