On October 16, a representative of Le Quy Don Primary School in Dak To Commune, Quang Ngai Province, said that the information circulating on social media about a man tricking parents into picking up their children in order to kidnap students in front of the school gate was not true.
For many days now, information and images have been circulating on Facebook about a reminder in a Zalo group with the following content: “A man riding a motorbike stood in front of the school gate at rush hour. This person lied that his parents had asked him to come to school to pick up his students. Believing him, the student got on the man’s motorbike and was discovered by another parent.
The homeroom teacher reminds parents to tell students not to leave the school gate until their parents come to pick them up. Parents of students who have not come to pick them up should call the homeroom teacher.

The above information is said to have occurred at Le Quy Don Primary School, Dak To Commune. Many Facebook accounts shared the information along with the warning that "kidnapping is rampant".
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Giang, Principal of Le Quy Don Primary School, said that the school has invited the parents who posted the above information to work and report to the police for further verification.
"After working with them, the parent admitted that he had posted false information because he did not understand the school's warning and removed the information," said Ms. Giang.
