Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy opens psychology major, enrolling students in social subjects

In 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy will recruit new students for the psychology major and plans to consider admission based on a combination of social subjects.

The President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has signed a decision to open a university-level psychology training program, expected to enroll students in 2026.

According to this decision, the school opens a major and assigns the Faculty of Public Health to train psychology at university level (code 7310401). The Faculty determines the quota, organizes enrollment, training, evaluates learning outcomes and awards degrees according to current regulations.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Khoi, Head of the School's Training Department, said that the school's psychology major has a clinical orientation. The school has not yet finalized its university enrollment plan for 2026, but the psychology major is expected to enroll students based on a combination of social subjects.

Currently, the university trains 15 regular majors at the university level including: medicine, preventive medicine, traditional medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, pharmaceutical chemistry, nursing, nursing specializing in anesthesia and resuscitation, midwifery, medical testing technology, medical imaging technology, rehabilitation technology, dental prosthetic technology, nutrition, and public health.

In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy will enroll over 2,700 students, of which pharmacy has the largest number of admissions with 597 students, followed by medicine with 434 students.

Notably, from 2024, Hanoi Medical University will enroll students in psychology according to the following combinations: C00 (literature-history-geography), B00 (math-chemistry-biology), D01 (math-literature-English).
