Designing tools and toys for children is a regular pedagogical activity in kindergartens. With creativity and ingenuity, teachers have actively designed many diverse and beautiful tools and toys, contributing to improving the effectiveness of organizing activities for children.
Thuc Hanh Kindergarten (Nha Trang City) has just organized a contest "Designing teaching aids" for the 2022-2023 school year. Here, 21 teachers introduced 21 sets of teaching aids and toys that they came up with ideas for, designed and made. The products are made from popular, easy-to-find, locally available materials, or make use of discarded items, such as: plastic bottles, jar lids, ice cream sticks, cloth... Each set of products has its own creativity, serving the practical needs of children's play and learning activities. Ms. Phi Thi The - teacher of class 25-36 months B shared that in order to change the way of telling stories about literary works for children, she designed a set of crocheted hand puppets. The puppet set includes gloves in the shape of cute, funny animals created by her, which can simulate actions and illustrate the story through hand and finger movements, so children are very excited. Children can also use the puppets to play and tell stories. The product is highly appreciated for its creativity, aesthetics, durability and was awarded first prize by the school.

At the "Homemade Toys and Supplies" contest for the 2022-2023 school year, Hong Bang Kindergarten (Nha Trang) displayed 34 sets of toys and supplies from 17 teachers. Of which, teachers from 3-4 year old kindergarten and nursery schools competed in designing teaching aids to help children get acquainted with literary works; 4-5 year old and 5-6 year old kindergartens competed in teaching aids to help children get acquainted with Math and letters. From different materials, teachers not only created products that were durable and safe, but also had high aesthetics and were used effectively in organizingeducational activities.
Participating in the Exhibition of teaching aids and homemade toys for preschools in the 2022-2023 school year organized by the Department of Education and Training of Khanh Vinh district, schools have chosen available materials from nature, environmentally friendly, cost-saving, such as: Stones, cotton, bamboo roots, wood and materials, plastic bottle scraps, milk cartons, scraps of fabric, foam... to improve into useful and beautiful tools and toys. Typical examples include: Toy sets of means of transport; toy sets for eating and drinking; counting sets; green library sets; music toy sets; physical development sets... Mr. Le Minh Trung - Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of the district said that the exhibition had the participation of 88 sets of teaching aids and homemade toys from 16 preschools in the district. The products demonstrate the creative potential of teachers in researching and creating teaching aids and toys that practically serve the activities of nurturing, caring for and educating children, meeting the preschool education program. This is also an opportunity for teachers to exchange, learn and share experiences in making teaching aids and toys. At the same time, the quality of the tools and toys at the exhibition is one of the factors to evaluate the quality of education of preschools, the competition criteria of the school level, the professional capacity and professional skills of the staff and teachers.
Mr. Do Huu Quynh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training said that every year, the Department of Education and Training directs preschools to maintain and develop the movement of making teaching aids and toys with many different forms and contents. Some units have organized competitions at school and district levels with investment and care for each product and put it into use in groups and classes. At the same time, replicate the way to make award-winning teaching aids and toys, using them effectively in schools.
