The reason is that the number of people registering to donate blood has decreased sharply in recent times and tends to continue to decrease in the coming time.
To solve the problem, Can Tho Department of Health mobilized and organized blood collection from health sector officials and employees; at the same time, called on all officials, party members, civil servants, public employees, armed forces soldiers, students, workers and people to actively participate in voluntary blood donation, join hands to overcome the risk of anemia, and contribute to saving patients.
Donating blood not only saves lives but also benefits the health of the donor. Regular blood donation helps the body increase the production of new blood, reduces excess iron in the blood, thereby contributing to reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke and cancer.

Recently, the voluntary blood donation festival "Red Color of Tay Do" attracted nearly 1,000 people to participate in voluntary blood donation, with hundreds of blood units received.
The program also honored 44 individuals and households in the city who donated blood voluntarily many times.
People register to donate blood voluntarily at the Can Tho City Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital (address: 317 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan An Ward, Can Tho City); blood donations are accepted 24/7, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and Tet.
