19-year-old girl hospitalized for self-abortion with pills bought online

After taking the medicine for a while, the patient began to feel dizzy, had severe abdominal pain and was bleeding continuously. The patient's family immediately took him to the obstetrics department of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases for emergency treatment.

At the time of admission, the patient showed signs of hemorrhage, low blood pressure and shock due to blood loss. The doctor examined and discovered that the gestational sac had not completely aborted. The patient was given timely emergency care and was out of danger and her health is gradually stabilizing.

From the above case, doctors warn of the danger when many women arbitrarily buy abortion pills to take at home or apply folk remedies with the hope of expelling the fetus. This is an act that potentially threatens the mother's life if complications occur.

Normally, medical abortion is indicated when the fetus is less than 7 weeks old, ultrasound shows the fetus must be implanted in the uterus and the mother does not have any medical conditions such as cardiovascular disease or other blood diseases...

Pregnant women should not buy abortion pills at home because it can easily lead to complications such as bleeding and infection, which seriously threaten their health and life.
