96-year-old man bedridden for 2 weeks after fall
Mr. NTĐ (96 years old) came to Hong Ngoc General Hospital (BVĐK) in a bedridden state for 2 weeks, all movements and activities were thanks to the help of his children and grandchildren. According to the patient's family: " After the fall, he tried many home treatment methods but the pain not only did not decrease but also became more severe, causing him to be bedridden.
Every time he tried to sit up or change position, the pain became more severe. The family was very concerned about whether or not to have surgery, because they were worried that his old age and poor health could lead to unexpected risks. In the end, we decided to take him to Hong Ngoc Hospital for examination and to find the best treatment.
X-ray and MRI results showed: T11, T12 vertebral bodies were broken, acutely collapsed, with bone marrow edema, and soft tissue edema behind the spine at the level from L2 to L5, with underlying pathology.
