Notice of flying flags at half-mast and stopping all entertainment activities during the National Funeral of Comrade Khamtay Siphandone

On April 3, the People's Committee of Yen Bai province issued Notice No. 45/TB-UBND on flying flags at half-mast and stopping entertainment activities during the National Funeral of Comrade Khamtay Siphandone.

On April 3, 2025, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front issued a special announcement: Comrade Khamtay Siphandone, born on February 8, 1924, former Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President, former Prime Minister, former Deputy Prime Minister, and former Minister of National Defense of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on April 2, 2025, at the age of 101.

Implementing the direction of the Central and Provincial Party Committees, the People's Committee of Yen Bai province announces: During the 2 days of National Mourning, from April 4 to 5, 2025, agencies and offices in the province will fly flags at half-mast and have mourning ribbons as prescribed; no public entertainment activities will be organized.

Requesting departments, branches, sectors, unions, social organizations, units and localities to organize implementation.
