According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, as of June 11th, the harvested area of the 2025 Summer-Autumn rice crop in the province was 2,051 hectares (accounting for 5.8% of the planted area), with an average yield of 6.22 tons/ha, and a total harvested production of 14,083 tons (a decrease of 1,321 tons compared to the same period last year).
The districts with the largest rice harvests are Vung Liem (1,035 ha), Tra On (453.9 ha), and Tam Binh (237.1 ha). The price of early summer-autumn rice is not high; high-quality fresh rice in Tra On district is priced at 6,500-6,700 VND/kg (1,500 VND/kg lower than the same period last year).
Currently, 1,530 hectares of rice are in the tillering stage, 9,665 hectares are in the heading stage, and 21,945 hectares are in the ripening stage. Due to the rainy weather, high humidity, and the fact that most of the rice crop is in the tillering-heading stage, pests and diseases continue to spread and cause damage to the summer-autumn rice crop.
Throughout the province, 6,042 hectares of rice fields are affected by pests and diseases (an increase of 422 hectares compared to the previous week), with the most common diseases being rice blast, grain discoloration, leaf blight, and rodent infestation. In addition, farmers have planted 1,437 hectares of early autumn-winter rice (reaching 4% of the plan and a decrease of 16% or 274 hectares compared to the same period last year). The rice is currently in the seedling stage and developing quite well.
