On January 25, the Ministry of Information and Communications announced that the Department of Telecommunications issued Official Dispatch No. 409/CVT-CPTN announcing the withdrawal of the telecommunications number warehouse allocated to SPT.
The Department of Telecommunications announced that it will withdraw the telecommunications numbering system allocated to SPT before March 31.
Previously, this company was allocated a telecommunications number warehouse by the Telecommunications Department to operate telecommunications services (including landline numbers, 1800 and 1900 numbers). However, SPT did not pay the fee for using the telecommunications number warehouse to the state for a long time, causing a great impact on state management.
According to Mr. Tran Duy Hai, Deputy Director of the Department of Telecommunications, based on Point c, Clause 2, Article 50 of the Law on Telecommunications, which stipulates the recovery of telecommunications numbers in cases where organizations and individuals have been allocated telecommunications numbers but do not pay usage fees, the Department of Telecommunications announced that it will recover the telecommunications numbers allocated to SPT Company before March 31.
To ensure the legitimate rights and interests of businesses and service users related to telecommunication services provided by SPT, the Telecommunications Department notifies customers who are using telecommunication services associated with landline phone numbers, 1800, 1900 numbers... provided by SPT to know and prepare alternative plans, in order to avoid damage caused by the revocation of telecommunication number warehouses of businesses.
According to the provisions of the Telecommunications Law, the revocation of telecommunications numbering will be carried out in the following cases: revocation to serve national interests, public interests, socio -economic development, national defense and security. The purpose and subjects of using telecommunications numbering are no longer consistent with the planning. Organizations and individuals who have been allocated telecommunications numbering do not pay allocation fees and usage fees.
Once a decision has been made to revoke the number, if the enterprise continues to use the telecommunications numbering system, it will be administratively fined from 140 to 170 million VND and forced to revoke the telecommunications numbering system and return any illegal profits gained from the violation.
SPT was established in 1995, headquartered in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. This is also the second licensed telecommunications network in Vietnam. SPT specializes in providing postal and telecommunications services nationwide such as: postal services, mobile phones, landline phones, toll-free services (1800), low-cost long-distance telephone services, etc.
