According to orchard owners' forecasts, this year's peak fruit season will fall around June, later than in previous years. Rambutan, the main fruit crop with a large area dedicated to ripening, its vibrant red color and geographical indication status promise to continue attracting tourists, creating a bustling summer. Although the peak fruit season hasn't arrived yet, some orchards growing fruits like star fruit, guava, mango, pomelo, and mangosteen have already opened their doors to visitors, offering them the chance to enjoy local specialties and traditional dishes. This is an effort by farmers to diversify fruit-growing areas to develop eco- tourism in their orchards early on.

Flexibly coordinate with gardens that welcome visitors early.

As one of the few fruit orchards that welcomes visitors very early, even though rambutan hasn't reached its peak ripeness yet, Mr. Tran Quoc Phong, owner of Ut Tieu Fruit Orchard (in Binh Loc ward), has been welcoming visitors since the beginning of May. Sharing the reason for being able to welcome visitors so early, Mr. Phong said: He proactively sought out and partnered with several orchards of mulberries, guavas, mangoes, and pomelos to bring visitors for tours and experiences. Along with the orchard experiences in partnership with local households, Ut Tieu Fruit Orchard also offers specialty dishes such as: chicken salad with mangosteen, grilled free-range chicken, crab hotpot… and various fruits sold directly from the orchard such as pomelos, durians, avocados, jackfruit… enough for visitors to both tour, experience, and enjoy local fruit specialties right in the orchard.

Mr. Phong shared: “With prices ranging from 79,000 to 119,000 VND per ticket, visitors can choose a combo tour of 2-3 orchards depending on the price. Upon arrival, visitors are free to explore, take photos, pick and enjoy the fruit without time limits. If visitors wish to buy fruit as souvenirs, the orchard owners can pick and sell it at reasonable prices. The orchard owners who partner with me must commit to providing attentive service and not overcharging visitors for fruit. Therefore, even though it's not yet the peak rambutan season, Ut Tieu Fruit Orchard still welcomes a large number of visitors on weekends.”

Many tourists visiting the orchards of mulberries, guavas, and mangoes are delighted to take photos with the trees laden with fruit, or to enjoy the delicious, crisp, and sweet taste of Thai mangoes and queen guavas. Mr. Nguyen Phuoc, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said that his family and he were captivated by the mulberry trees laden with fruit from root to tip. Amidst the lush green space of the mulberry orchard, his family took many beautiful and impressive photos.

Mr. Phuoc said: He will return to Binh Loc in mid-June with family and friends to visit and experience the rambutan season in Long Khanh (formerly Long Khanh town).

The orchards are ready for the peak tourist season.

Dozens of orchards in the Binh Loc, Hang Gon, and Xuan Bac wards have been renovated and improved in preparation for the peak tourist season. For example, in Binh Loc ward, the Binh Loc Ecotourism Cooperative has prominently displayed signs advertising orchard tourist destinations, attracting attention at the entrances to the orchards. Familiar destinations such as Uncle Loc La's orchard, Tam Le's orchard, Ha Cali's orchard, and Ut Tieu's orchard are ready to welcome visitors.

Hang Gon ward is also home to many of Long Khanh's specialty fruit orchards. Mr. Truong Dinh Khanh, Chairman of the Long Khanh Young Tour Guides Club in Hang Gon ward, said: During the peak fruit season, many orchards in Hang Gon open their doors to welcome tourists to visit and experience traditional farming practices.

Commenting on ecotourism activities in Hang Gon, Mr. Truong Dinh Khanh said: Hang Gon ward has great potential to exploit and develop unique ecotourism products with stories about the land and local produce. One of the destinations in Hang Gon that has attracted tourists from all over the country in recent years during fruit seasons, summer, holidays, and Tet is Cau Dau Glamping. This is where you can find tours of fruit orchards and enjoy culinary dishes made from local fruits and ingredients.

To fully exploit the local tourism potential, Cau Dau Glamping is connecting with several orchards to serve tourists visiting when the fruit ripens. Mr. Khanh shared: “Cau Dau Glamping hopes to connect with more orchards during the fruit season to create diverse and unique tours. We are ready to support and guide households on how to do tourism, from guiding orchard tours to producing and selling specialty products, contributing to product development and directly participating in the local tourism service chain.”

Established in 2023, the Xuan Bac Fruit Orchard Ecotourism Cooperative (Xuan Bac commune) is one of the attractive destinations for tourists during the fruit season. Notably, the Cooperative is also one of the four tourism products recognized as achieving OCOP 3-star standard in Dong Nai province. Over the years, the Cooperative has contributed to promoting the development of ecotourism in orchards, exploiting the potential of agriculture and rural areas. It also serves as a channel for promoting and selling agricultural products for local people.

Mr. Van Thanh Toan, head of the cooperative group, said: The cooperative currently has about 10 households linked together to develop community tourism with specialty fruit orchards such as rambutan, durian, guava, mango, mangosteen… The households are preparing to welcome tourists to visit and enjoy the sweet fruit season this summer.

According to Dong Nai's tourism development plan for 2026, agricultural and rural tourism is one of the three main tourism product groups that the city will focus on developing, including eco-tourism and resort tourism; cultural and spiritual tourism; and supporting products to create diverse offerings and enhance tourist attraction.
