(HNMO) - Goalkeeper Tran Nguyen Manh had to say goodbye to the Vietnamese team due to a chronic knee injury.
According to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), coach Philippe Troussier has allowed Nguyen Manh to return to Nam Dinh Club to treat his injury. It is known that this is a chronic knee injury that has plagued this goalkeeper for a long time.
In March, Nguyen Manh was also called up but did not perform well due to injury. After that, he went to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment but his injury did not recover 100%.
Nguyen Manh is the second player to have to leave the Vietnam national team this time due to injury. Before that was the case of Nguyen Phong Hong Duy, also from Nam Dinh Club.
During the training session on June 9, three players including Que Ngoc Hai, Hoang Duc and Ho Tan Tai returned to practice with the whole team. Previously, this group of players had to practice separately for 2 days due to overload. Meanwhile, Tien Linh was also overloaded and still had to practice separately.
Tomorrow (June 10), Cong Phuong will return home. It is not known whether he will practice immediately or not. Meanwhile, Van Toan will return home on June 12. The presence of these two players will help coach Philippe Troussier have 30 players on the national team.
Meanwhile, the U23 Vietnam squad is still missing 6 players: Huynh Cong Den, Vo Minh Trong, Le Quoc Nhat Nam, Nguyen Duc Phu, Vo Nguyen Hoang and Nguyen Huu Nam. This group will gather on June 10.
On June 13, coach Philippe Troussier will finalize the list of players to go to Hai Phong to play a friendly match against Hong Kong (China) on June 15.
