(MPI) – At the working session between Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong and Chairman of Mitsubishi Research Institute (MRI) Kenji Yabuta on the afternoon of June 21, 2024, the two sides agreed to promote the effective implementation of activities between the two agencies, contributing to actively participating in the activities of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Initiative in the new era.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong highly appreciated MRI for its role in policy consultation and research, proposing that the Japanese Government provide ODA resources to Vietnam in important projects, thereby helping Japan maintain its position as Vietnam's leading important partner and the largest bilateral ODA provider.
The Deputy Minister also informed the MRI Chairman about the management mechanism as well as Vietnam's recent efforts in removing difficulties and obstacles, speeding up the implementation of projects using Japanese ODA capital.
At the meeting, Mr. Kenji Yabuta expressed his delight at the close cooperation between the Ministry of Planning and Investment and MRI in recent times. Specifically, MRI has worked with the Foreign Investment Agency and the National Innovation Center to organize seminars to share cooperation information to promote attracting and expanding investment from Japanese companies to Vietnam, as well as actively participating in the Japan-Vietnam Joint Initiative in the New Era.
MRI Chairman wishes to expand innovative business activities to solve Vietnam's socio -economic problems; at the same time, he shared the coordination with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to study issues related to macroeconomic stability, inflation control and economic growth, measures to respond to climate change, human resource development, labor productivity improvement, supporting industries, semiconductor industry, green growth and some potential cooperation between the two sides in the coming time.
Agreeing with the proposal of the Chairman of MRI, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong emphasized the importance of building high-quality human resources in the fields of innovation, science, technology and new industries; proposed that Japan have training courses for highly qualified engineers, share experiences in building investment funds for innovation and effectively using resources.
Both sides affirmed their determination to work together to strengthen coordination and trust not only between the Governments but also between the sectors and agencies of the two countries through diversifying cooperation activities, mutual assistance and sharing; implementing cooperation plans, contributing to the development of relations between the two countries which have just been upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world./.
