The Prime Minister directed to speed up traffic projects in Lam Dong.

The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , connected online with localities with important national projects and key transport sector works and projects.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Construction chaired the 20th meeting at the Government bridge.

Speaking at the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of infrastructure for the economic development of the country and localities and improving the quality of life.

The Prime Minister cited the remarkable development thanks to infrastructure in Quang Ninh and Ninh Thuan provinces and emphasized: Provinces with good infrastructure achieve double-digit growth very quickly. If infrastructure is not good, investors will not care if they roll out the red carpet or the yellow carpet.

Therefore, the Prime Minister requested that localities need to promote the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to face difficulties, self-reliance, and not waiting or relying on the Central Government.

Lam Dong province currently has 3 key projects in the Transport sector including: Tan Phu (Dong Nai) - Bao Loc (Lam Dong) Expressway Construction Project, Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway Construction Project and North - South Expressway Construction Investment Project, Western section, Gia Nghia (old Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (old Binh Phuoc).

The Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway construction project had its groundbreaking ceremony at the end of June 2025. It is currently making efforts to resolve problems related to site clearance and construction of resettlement areas to hand over clean land to investors for construction.

The two remaining expressway projects include Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh and Tan Phu - Bao Loc sections passing through Lam Dong province, whose implementation scope overlaps with bauxite mine planning.

Reporting at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Hong Hai said: The Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway section through Lam Dong has a rather slow progress in site clearance. To speed up the progress, the provincial leaders have established a Steering Committee for site clearance for key traffic projects in the province.

Comrade Nguyen Hong Hai also emphasized that the biggest problem with this project is the overlap with bauxite planning. The highway is 23.1km long, of which 23km is bauxite. Of which, 4.5km is licensed for exploitation by the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group with a reserve of about 26 million tons. The province has worked with the Group to adjust the plan, speed up the exploitation progress, and hand over the site early.

The remaining 15km section has been explored with reserves of 1.8 million tons. However, there is still a section of about 3.5km that has not been explored with reserves of 0.6 million tons.

The province has proactively worked with consulting units and the Group to evaluate the economic efficiency of mineral mines to find appropriate solutions. Thereby, it is determined to hand over the site to implement this expressway project by December 2025.

Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway is divided into 4 component projects. Of which, Lam Dong province is assigned to implement 2 component projects, including: Component project 2 (Investment in construction of service roads and overpasses across the section through the old Dak Nong province); Component project 4 (Compensation, support, resettlement of the section through Lam Dong province).

At the meeting, the Prime Minister directed Lam Dong province to be more decisive and proactive. The Prime Minister also directed the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to provide guidance and resolve problems related to overlapping planning and overlapping mineral exploitation areas in the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh and Tan Phu - Bao Loc projects.

The Steering Committee also requested Lam Dong province to speed up the selection of investors and contractors to start the Tan Phu - Bao Loc project in the fourth quarter of 2025 and be more proactive in removing difficulties and obstacles to speed up the progress of the projects.

At the meeting, the investor who proposed to invest in the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway project was Deo Ca Group. This unit also reported and said that it was very interested and wanted to invest in the project.
