Ms. Emelie Antoni, President of AstraZeneca Northern Europe and Sweden and her colleagues said that AstraZeneca is a global biopharmaceutical group from the United Kingdom and Sweden. Present in Vietnam since 1994, in 2019, AstraZeneca was officially licensed to establish AstraZeneca Vietnam Company Limited and currently has more than 700 employees nationwide.
Appreciating the transformation of Vietnam's people's health care, Ms. Emelie Antoni said that Vietnam is a strategic market for AstraZeneca; suggested that Vietnam have preferential policies in the pharmaceutical industry, especially policies for the field of rare diseases; shorten the time for licensing clinical trials... Thereby, creating conditions for the Group as well as foreign pharmaceutical enterprises to do business more conveniently and effectively in Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated AstraZeneca's contributions in the fields of medicine , health care and pharmaceutical development, especially supporting Vietnam in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic; wished and was ready to immediately grant licenses for AstraZeneca to invest in pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing plants in Vietnam; transfer technology, employ Vietnamese workers, provide pharmaceuticals and vaccines for the Vietnamese market of 100 million people and in the whole region, especially anti-cancer drugs, drugs and vaccines to prevent, treat and treat diseases for women, children, tropical diseases, etc.
Noting that Vietnam has issued many preferential policies on administrative procedures; preferential policies to support research, testing, and technology transfer activities, especially the production of some new drugs, generic drugs, high-tech drugs, vaccines, and rare drugs with technology transfer to produce in Vietnam, the Prime Minister asked AstraZeneca to continue to accompany and support Vietnam in improving the effectiveness of non-communicable disease prevention and control activities in the coming period.
