At the construction site of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited, encouraged and gave gifts to workers.
Reporting to the Prime Minister and the working delegation, Mr. Le Minh Cuong - Director of the Can Tho City Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor of component project 2) - said that the project has 5 construction packages (4 construction packages and 1 traffic safety system construction package). Up to now, the total value of the packages has reached 299,239/5,985,514 billion VND, ratio: 4.999% (about 13.1% behind schedule).
Regarding the sand issue, Mr. Cuong added that up to now, the project has enough sand for the foundation, there is no longer a shortage of sand. According to Mr. Cuong, Tien Giang province has committed to supporting Can Tho city with 3 sand mines in the area.
The 3 sand mines granted to component project 2 are: An Nhon mine (Cai Be district) with reserves of about 0.912 million m3; Ngu Hiep 1 and Ngu Hiep 2 (Cai Lay district) with reserves of 1.243 million m3 and 2.598 million m3. The total reserves of the 3 mines are about 4.753 million m3.
The entire Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway project, component 2, requires 7 million m3 of sand. An Giang province has provided a sand mine in Binh Phuoc Xuan commune, Cho Moi district with about 2.4 million m3 of sand meeting the requirements for highway construction (exploited in mid-April 2024). Tien Giang province has committed to supporting an additional 4.7 million m3 of sand, so the project has enough 7 million m3 for contractors to confidently construct.
However, component project 2 is only stuck with the relocation of technical infrastructure.
Continuing the inspection trip of Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang expressway, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation inspected component project 3 through Hau Giang province.
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project Phase 1 has a total length of 188.2km, passing through 4 provinces/cities: An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang and Soc Trang. The starting point connects National Highway 91 in Chau Doc City (An Giang Province) and the end point intersects with Nam Song Hau National Highway, connecting the Tran De Port access road (Soc Trang Province), with a total investment of 44,691 billion VND. The entire route is expected to be completed and put into use in 2027.
Regarding land acquisition, it has been basically completed (reaching 99%), only about 1% remains, concentrated in 86 households and technical infrastructure works, especially 15 high-voltage power line locations.
Regarding raw materials, the total demand for sand for the project is about 29 million m3. With the strong direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, up to now, the supply of sand materials in terms of reserves has basically been resolved. However, the exploitation capacity is still low (meeting only about 30% of the demand), so it is necessary to increase the capacity.
Regarding construction and disbursement, the project started construction of the first 4/14 construction packages from June 2023. The total construction output of the entire project reached about 9.3% of the contract value; of which An Giang reached 20.5%, Hau Giang reached 11.9%, Can Tho reached nearly 5.0%, Soc Trang reached 2.3%.
Earlier, on the same morning, towards the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the working delegation offered incense to commemorate heroic martyrs at the Martyrs Cemetery of Can Tho City.Source: https://laodong.vn/thoi-su/thu-tuong-kiem-tra-cao-toc-gan-45000-ti-dong-o-mien-tay-1365698.ldo
