Nepal Prime Minister: Wishes to learn from Vietnam's experience in national development

(laichau.gov.vn) On the afternoon of August 31, on the occasion of attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) 2025 Summit in Tianjin and working in China, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with Nepalese Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli.

At the meeting, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed his admiration for President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic Vietnamese people, saying that since his youth, he had participated in demonstrations supporting Vietnam against the unjust war of aggression by imperialism.

Through Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli respectfully sent his regards to General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong and leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam.

The Prime Minister of Nepal expressed his impression of Vietnam's strong and breakthrough development speed since the liberation of the South and national reunification in 1975. Accordingly, Nepal wishes to learn from Vietnam's successful experiences in building and developing the country.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sincerely thanked Nepal and the Prime Minister himself for their sentiments and support for Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and reunification as well as in the current cause of national construction and development, especially the precious sentiments of the Nepalese people for President Ho Chi Minh.

The Prime Minister also respectfully conveyed the greetings of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong and senior leaders of Vietnam to the President and senior leaders of Nepal.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Nepal is a very special country with Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, located in the Himalayas; and Nepal is also the birthplace of Buddha Shakyamuni. Accordingly, people-to-people exchanges, especially in Buddhism, have a long history spanning thousands of years, creating a natural and strong bond.

Emphasizing the importance of further promoting bilateral cooperation in the coming time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two sides increase the exchange of high-level delegations and all levels; affirmed that Vietnam is ready to support the training of Nepalese officials and civil servants; and at the same time suggested that Nepal pay attention to and support large Vietnamese economic groups, including Viettel, to explore opportunities and implement investment and business activities in Nepal.

The two Prime Ministers expressed their wish to further strengthen the traditional friendship and good cooperation that has been nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Emphasizing common points in history, culture and the policy of developing the country in a socialist direction, the two leaders agreed to continue to promote delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level ones, and promote the signing of more cooperation agreements on trade and investment to develop bilateral relations commensurate with the potential and desires of both sides.

At the same time, the two sides affirmed their determination to promote cooperation in culture, tourism, people-to-people exchange, environmental protection and climate change response, and support each other at regional and international forums.

On this occasion, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli respectfully invited the Prime Minister to visit Nepal soon. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that he will assign the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to coordinate with the Nepalese side to arrange a suitable time, and respectfully invited the Prime Minister of Nepal to visit Vietnam in the near future.
