“Vietnam Day in Brazil” not only honors the rich cultural, artistic and historical values of the Vietnamese people over thousands of years of development, but also demonstrates the aspirations and vitality of the nation.

During the G20 Summit and bilateral activities in Brazil, on the afternoon of November 17 local time, in Rio de Janeiro city, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with the Vietnamese delegation, attended the program "Vietnam Day in Brazil."

The program “Vietnam Day in Brazil” was held from November 15-17 on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Vietnam-Brazil relations with the theme “Convergence of the quintessence of a thousand years of culture - Rising in the era of prosperity and strength” to promote and honor the beauty and unique traditional cultural values of Vietnam to Brazilian and international friends; bring new, multi-dimensional perspectives on the thousand-year cultural heritage of the Vietnamese people; affirm the unique cultural identity and express Vietnam's aspiration for integration and development in the context of globalization.

Attending the program "Vietnam Day in Brazil," Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with the Vietnamese delegation, visited, experienced the cultural space and enjoyed the art performance program.
In particular, the Vietnamese cultural space introduces a unique cultural display and experience complex, with 10 typical cultural exchange activities including: Photo exhibition introducing the country, people of Vietnam and the Vietnam-Brazil relationship; photo exhibition of the quintessence of Vietnamese culture, world heritages in Vietnam recognized by the United Nations Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); check-in wall with images of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups introducing the typical costumes, customs and practices of 54 ethnic groups living together in Vietnam; exhibition of lacquer products - cultural exchange space.

During the program, the Prime Minister, his wife and visitors also experienced traditional Vietnamese costumes; enjoyed Dong Ho paintings and to he - cultural products imbued with Vietnamese identity; watched a flag dance performance combined with Vovinam martial arts conveying the spirit of bravery, imbued with Vietnamese national identity and spirit; and the "unique" art of water puppetry only found in Vietnam, a national intangible cultural heritage, a tradition since the 11th century.

Along with that, the program also introduces the original flavor of Vietnamese coffee in a space that recreates a typical corner of Hanoi's old quarter.

In particular, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his satisfaction with the art performance program with the theme “The Quintessence of a Thousand Years of Culture,” which brought many attractive song-dance-music performances, introducing many traditional art forms of Vietnam such as lion and dragon dance; graceful dances, sweet music and historical stories were skillfully integrated, introducing the richness and diversity of Vietnamese cultural heritage, and at the same time serving as a bridge for international friends to better understand Vietnam.

In addition, the program also has many unique and traditional music and dance performances performed by Brazilian artists.

The program “Vietnam Day in Brazil” not only honors the rich cultural, artistic and historical values of the Vietnamese people over thousands of years of development, but also demonstrates the vitality and aspiration of the nation to rise up in the new era - the era of the nation's rise to have a worthy position in world politics, global economy and human civilization.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the program "Vietnam Day in Brazil" is especially meaningful as it is held on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Brazil diplomatic relations and the 112th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's stopover in Rio de Janeiro on his journey to find a way to save the country.

Thanking the Brazilian Government and the city of Rio de Janeiro for facilitating and supporting the organization of the “Vietnam Day in Brazil” program, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that starting 112 years ago, after 35 years of establishment, the Vietnam-Brazil diplomatic relationship has continuously developed. The two sides have a sincere and trustworthy political relationship, regularly exchanging delegations, especially high-level delegations.

Economically, Brazil is currently Vietnam's leading trade partner in Latin America. In the first 10 months of 2024, two-way trade turnover reached 6.58 billion USD. The two countries strive to increase bilateral trade turnover to 10 billion USD in 2025 and 15 billion USD in 2030.

Recognizing that there is still a lot of room for cooperation between the two countries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that during his working trip, Vietnam and Brazil will upgrade their relationship to a strategic partnership. This will create an important foundation for the two sides to promote cooperation in all areas, including cultural cooperation.

Emphasizing that “culture is an endogenous strength, culture lights the way for the nation”; culture does not distinguish between borders, ages, or ethnic differences; culture is very unique and also highly integrated…, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that although Vietnam and Brazil are far apart, the two countries’ cultures have similarities; culture is also an area in which the two countries need to strengthen cooperation; at the same time, it is necessary to work together to internationalize the two countries’ national cultures and nationalize the quintessence of human culture.

Pointing out that “Vietnam Day in Brazil” is just the beginning, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his belief that in the coming time, cultural cooperation between the two countries will be stronger, with a larger scope and more subjects so that people of each country can enjoy each other's cultural quintessence; together with the trustworthy political relationship, complementary economy, unique and close culture, we will nurture the relationship and cooperation between the two peoples and the two countries of Vietnam and Brazil to be forever green and sustainable./.
