After nearly 4 hours of flight, at 1:55 p.m. (local time) on May 19, the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Hiroshima airport, starting a working trip to attend the expanded G7 Summit and work in Japan at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio.
Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at the airport were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Yamada Kenji; Governor of Hiroshima Prefecture Hidehiko Yuzaki; Liaison of the Japanese Prime Minister Maeda Shunsuke; Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu; Consul General of Vietnam in Osaka, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka; staff of the Embassy and Consulate General of Vietnam in Japan.
During his stay at the G7 Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend three discussion sessions on the topics of “Working together to handle multiple crises”, “Joint efforts for a sustainable planet”, “Towards a world of peace, stability and prosperity”; participate in activities on the G7 Global Infrastructure and Investment Partnership Initiative; meet and have bilateral meetings with leaders of countries and international organizations within the framework of the G7 Summit.
At discussion sessions and multilateral and bilateral contacts, the Prime Minister will contribute to the international community, in line with Vietnam's interests on many issues, especially those directly related to security - development, sustainable development, health cooperation, climate change response, environment, energy, etc.
Through this, it conveys the message of Vietnam's dynamic development, innovation, deep and effective international integration; positive, proactive and responsible contribution to the common work of the international community, while protecting and promoting the country's legitimate interests.

Also during the working trip, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio to discuss bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern; attend and speak at a dialogue with leaders of major Japanese enterprises; receive economic organizations, corporations, and large Japanese enterprises; and meet with prominent representatives of the Vietnamese community and intellectuals in Japan.
The Prime Minister's working trip to Japan is of great significance in the context of Vietnam and Japan celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1973-2023); demonstrating the importance of both sides to the bilateral relationship; affirming Vietnam's consistent policy of attaching importance to relations with Japan, wishing to further promote the Vietnam-Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership, and strengthening cooperation in areas of both sides' potential and strengths.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working trip with specific and practical activities and contents aims to strongly implement the foreign policy of the 13th Party Congress of "independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations".
