The Prime Minister will have bilateral meetings with leaders of countries and organizations attending the Conference to review and promote cooperative relations between Vietnam and other countries and partners.

In France, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will hold talks and meetings with senior French leaders; attend the Vietnam-France business forum and work with leaders of major French corporations; meet with experts, intellectuals and representatives of the Vietnamese community in France...

Speaking to VietNamNet, French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet said that with more than 3,200km of coastline, Vietnam is a country directly affected by rising sea levels, coastal erosion, declining aquatic resources and challenges to freedom of navigation.

Therefore, Vietnam's voice at the conference is even more meaningful. France and Vietnam share the same viewpoint that needs to be expressed at United Nations forums. Vietnam is also a very important partner, receiving special international attention within the framework of cooperation with the United Nations.

France wishes to closely coordinate with Vietnam, including the proposal to organize a side event on the world's major deltas, including the Mekong Delta. The conference in Nice will be a clear demonstration of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

For France, the Ambassador shared that the conference in Nice is no less important than the COP conferences on climate and biodiversity. The three pillars: Ocean - climate - biodiversity are a tripod, any shaky leg will affect all of humanity.

Climate change has had a devastating impact on the ocean. The ocean is experiencing a series of problems such as rising temperatures, acidification, plastic pollution, biodiversity loss... All the damage to the Earth is reflected in the ocean.

France hopes to closely coordinate with EU and non-EU member countries such as Vietnam to have a common awareness of the risks threatening the ocean and to take timely and practical actions before it is too late.

Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang said that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's attendance at UNOC 3 aims to convey a consistent message that Vietnam is a reliable partner, an active and responsible member of the international community for a common prosperous future and sustainable development.

The Prime Minister will also share the drastic and strong measures that Vietnam is implementing to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas and marine resources.
