The Prime Minister approves the establishment of the Da Nang City Free Trade Zone.

(QNO) - The Da Nang Free Trade Zone covers an area of ​​approximately 1,881 hectares, situated in non-contiguous locations, and includes functional zones for: production and logistics; trade and services; digital technology, information technology and innovation; and other types of functional zones as stipulated by law.

The Prime Minister has just issued Decision No. 1142/QD-TTg (dated June 13, 2025) on the establishment of the Da Nang City Free Trade Zone.

Accordingly, the Da Nang Free Trade Zone covers an area of ​​approximately 1,881 hectares, situated in non-contiguous locations, and includes functional zones for: manufacturing and logistics; trade and services; digital technology , information technology and innovation; and other types of functional zones as prescribed by law.

The Da Nang Free Trade Zone comprises seven specific functional areas as follows:

Location 1 covers an area of ​​approximately 100 hectares, located in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district. Location 2 covers an area of ​​approximately 77 hectares, located in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district. Location 3 covers an area of ​​approximately 500 hectares, located in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district and Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district.

Location 4 covers an area of ​​approximately 559 hectares and is located in Hoa Ninh commune, Hoa Vang district. Location 5 covers an area of ​​approximately 90 hectares and is also located in Hoa Ninh commune, Hoa Vang district. Location 6 covers an area of ​​approximately 154 hectares, and Location 7 covers an area of ​​approximately 401 hectares, both located in Hoa Nhon and Hoa Ninh communes, Hoa Vang district.

The Prime Minister has assigned the People's Committee of Da Nang City full responsibility for the information and accuracy of the boundaries of the proposed locations mentioned above.

After implementing the plan to reorganize commune-level administrative units according to the two-tiered local government model, the People's Committee of Da Nang City is responsible for reviewing and updating the boundaries of each location according to the names of the new communes (if any), ensuring that the locations of approved functional areas are not changed.

The orientation and planning of functional zones at each location must be consistent with the objectives and development orientation of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, national-level plans, regional plans, and the Da Nang City plan approved by competent authorities.

The Da Nang Free Trade Zone is planned and developed on a foundation of modern infrastructure, encompassing a synchronized system of production, trade, logistics, technology, and high-quality services. Its goal is to become a regional economic hub, playing a strategic growth role for Central Vietnam and the entire country in the context of new development.

The long-term goal is to develop the Da Nang Free Trade Zone into a crucial link in the global and Asia-Pacific regional supply chain network; a production center and international goods transshipment hub connected with Lien Chieu Port, Da Nang International Airport, and the East-West Economic Corridor.

Developing the Da Nang Free Trade Zone in conjunction with the International Financial Center in Da Nang City will create a modern, smart, and highly competitive economic ecosystem, generating significant ripple effects and contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position in the region and internationally in the context of globalization.

The operations, mechanisms, policies, and management organization of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone shall be implemented in accordance with the provisions of Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 and other relevant legal documents.
