The Prime Minister has just issued Decision No. 1142/QD-TTg (dated June 13, 2025) on the establishment of Da Nang City Free Trade Zone.
Accordingly, the Da Nang Free Trade Zone has a scale of about 1,881 hectares located in non-contiguous locations, including functional areas: production, logistics; trade - services; digital technology industry, information technology and innovation and other types of functional areas according to the provisions of law.
Da Nang City Free Trade Zone has 7 specific functional areas as follows:
Location 1 has an area of about 100 hectares, located in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district. Location 2 has an area of about 77 hectares, located in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district. Location 3 has an area of about 500 hectares, located in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district and Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district.
Location 4 has an area of about 559 hectares, located in Hoa Ninh commune, Hoa Vang district. Location 5 has an area of about 90 hectares, located in Hoa Ninh commune, Hoa Vang district. Location 6 has an area of about 154 hectares and location 7 has an area of about 401 hectares, both in Hoa Nhon and Hoa Ninh communes, Hoa Vang district.
The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Da Nang City to take full responsibility for the information and accuracy of the boundaries of the proposed locations mentioned above.
After implementing the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units according to the two-level local government model, the People's Committee of Da Nang City is responsible for reviewing and updating the boundaries of each location according to the names of new communes (if any), ensuring that the locations of approved functional areas are not changed.
The orientation and planning of the construction of functional areas at each location must be consistent with the development goals and orientations of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, national planning, regional planning, and Da Nang City planning approved by competent authorities.
Da Nang Free Trade Zone is planned and developed on the basis of modern infrastructure, synchronizing the fields of production, trade, logistics, technology and high-quality services, aiming to become a regional economic center, playing the role of a strategic growth pole of the Central region and the whole country in the new development context.
With the long-term goal of building Da Nang Free Trade Zone into an important link in the global supply chain network and the Asia-Pacific region; a production center, an international goods transit hub connected to Lien Chieu port, Da Nang international airport and the East-West Economic Corridor.
Developing the Da Nang Free Trade Zone in conjunction with the International Financial Center in Da Nang City, forming a modern, smart, highly competitive economic ecosystem, creating great spillover effects, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position in the region and internationally in the context of globalization.
The operations, mechanisms, policies and management organization of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone shall comply with the provisions of Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 and relevant legal documents.
