Thua Thien Hue proposes to host National Tourism Year

Leaders of Thua Thien Hue province recently had a working session with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on cultural, sports and tourism activities in the province.

At this event, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh said that Thua Thien Hue province wishes to host the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025.

The province identified this as an important event, associated with the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Thua Thien Hue, and at the same time welcoming Thua Thien Hue province officially becoming a centrally-run city.

The activities aim to introduce and promote tangible and intangible cultural values, resources and unique tourism products of Vietnam in general and Thua Thien Hue province in particular; help attract domestic and international tourists, create a breakthrough in tourism development, and contribute to promoting the socio -economic development of the province.

Along with that, the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 will strongly promote tourism development linkages between localities nationwide; promote strengths and potentials to develop regional and inter-regional tourism; contribute to enhancing the image, position and brand of Vietnamese tourism in general and Thua Thien Hue in particular in the following years.

Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh said that the National Tourism Year is the biggest tourism event of the year, increasingly aiming to attract international tourists with many attractive and diverse activities. This is an opportunity to attract domestic and international tourists to Vietnam through introducing and promoting the image, tangible and intangible cultural values, resources and unique tourism products of Vietnam; at the same time, strongly promoting the connection in tourism development between localities.

“The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism highly appreciates the proposal and fully agrees and supports Thua Thien Hue in hosting the National Tourism Year 2025 because the province possesses extremely diverse and rich cultural and tourism heritage and complete tourism infrastructure. If Thua Thien Hue is chosen to host this event, the province will be the fourth locality in the country to host this major tourism event twice,” said Director Nguyen Trung Khanh.

To ensure the successful hosting of the National Tourism Year, according to Director Nguyen Trung Khanh, Thua Thien Hue needs to have a strong commitment to effectively implement the activities. In addition, the province also needs to innovate the content and implementation methods. The selection of themes needs to be linked to the local tourism development, in line with the overall tourism development of the country. In addition, the province also needs to ensure resources to implement activities within the framework of the National Tourism Year, especially tourism promotion and advertising.
