Discussing regional and international issues of mutual concern, the two Ministers agreed that the two countries need to continue to strengthen cooperation, maintain solidarity and promote the central role of ASEAN. Regarding the East Sea issue, the two sides agreed to be determined to build the East Sea into a sea of ​​peace , cooperation and development; together with ASEAN countries to seriously and fully implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), striving to soon reach an effective and efficient Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC), in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
