'Love' to see that life still has miracles

Miracle from liver transplant costing more than 700 million VND

In his grandmother's small, simple house, Tran Quang Hieu's life was a series of days struggling with the dangerous disease of cirrhosis. With no stable home or income, Pham Thi Nga - Hieu's mother - had to shoulder the burden of raising 3 young children in a difficult situation. It was thought that Hieu would have no chance to live, but a miracle happened when the Tam Thien Nguyen connection group raised more than 700 million VND to help Hieu have a successful liver transplant.

Ms. Nga emotionally said: “I really don’t know what to say other than thank you. If it weren’t for the uncles and aunts in the Tam Thien Nguyen group, my child would not have seen the light of day today. Now, seeing my child eating well and running around like any other child, I can only bow my head in gratitude to the hearts that saved my child.”

That miracle started from a charity trip in Tan Lap village 2 years ago, when Mr. Nguyen Trong Truong, Head of the Tam Thien Nguyen Connection Group in Phu Nghia commune, met Hieu. At that time, the boy was just over 1 year old, his belly was as big as a ball, his eyes were yellow and cloudy, and his breathing was weak. Feeling sorry for his situation, Mr. Truong called everywhere, and then the liver transplant was successfully performed in November last year.

Mr. Truong expressed: “When I posted the appeal, I really just hoped for some money to help my child with treatment. Unexpectedly, there were so many people who sympathized and joined hands to help. It was those hearts that made me believe that kindness still exists around us, it just needs to be awakened at the right time. Now seeing my child healthy, I feel like I have more strength and faith to continue this journey.”

Since recovering from the surgery, Hieu has been “born again”. His rosy cheeks, bright eyes and bright smile are proof of his will to live and the power of human love. Every time the Tam Thien Nguyen group returns to visit his home, everyone is moved to see Hieu now know how to say hello, smile and run around the yard. These seemingly simple things are, to them, a miracle.

They go to each school, learn about each child's situation, then connect with kind hearts to give scholarships, gifts at the beginning of the school year, brand new uniforms... At Hoang Dieu Primary School (Phu Nghia Commune, Dong Nai Province) - where nearly 80% of the students are ethnic minorities, the journey of spreading knowledge has never been easy. Many children come to class with worn-out sandals and worn-out shirts, some have to walk kilometers to school. However, in their innocent smiles, there is still a simple happiness because they know that there are always people who "love" them, watching and supporting them from behind.
