Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam chaired the Conference on deploying missile ship construction for the Navy.

On the morning of October 9, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Steering Committee for the Missile Ship Building Program, chaired a working session to review the situation, implementation results and plans for building new missile ships for the Navy.

Concluding the working session, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam requested the General Department of Defense Industry and the Navy to closely coordinate with relevant agencies and units to continue to organize and implement the task of building new missile ships to ensure quality, progress, compliance with regulations and technical designs.

Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam concluded the working session.

The Deputy Minister of National Defense noted the need to accelerate research and production of weapons systems and specialized equipment to be installed on missile ships, ensuring modernity, configuration and features that meet mission requirements. In particular, maximizing the localization rate, resolutely not purchasing or importing equipment, weapons and equipment that the domestic defense industry has researched and produced, reducing dependence on foreign countries and facilitating technical assurance work in exploitation and use.

During the implementation of the program, agencies and units regularly and periodically inspect, monitor and urge the progress of shipbuilding construction, promptly synthesize and report on difficulties and problems for the Ministry of National Defense to consider, direct and resolve.
