On October 3, while conducting a banking transaction, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Truong Hai discovered that his personal account had unexpectedly received 230 million VND from a stranger's account.

With pure moral qualities, a sense of responsibility, honesty and high civic awareness, he proactively reported the incident to the Hoa Binh Ward Police (Hai Phong City) to verify and find the real owner of the above amount of money.

Through professional measures, Hoa Binh Ward Police identified the person who mistakenly transferred the money as Mr. Pham Tien Thanh, residing in Binh Nguyen Commune, Phu Tho Province. Thanks to the timely reporting, along with the close coordination between the Ward Police and Comrade Nguyen Truong Hai, the entire amount of 230 million VND was returned to Mr. Thanh on October 4.

In his thank you letter to comrade Hai, the 11th Marine Division and the Hai Phong City Police, Mr. Pham Tien Thanh emotionally wrote: This is a huge amount of money for me and my family. Thanks to the sense of responsibility and honesty of comrade Nguyen Truong Hai, along with the timely help of the comrades of the Hoa Binh Ward Police, I have received the full amount of the mistakenly transferred money. I am truly grateful and admire the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers - the soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard.

Assessing the incident, Lieutenant Colonel Dao Trinh Cuong, Head of Hoa Binh Ward Police, said: "Comrade Hai's honest and responsible actions in serving the people have contributed to strengthening people's trust in the armed forces and spreading good moral values ​​in society."

Comrade Nguyen Truong Hai transferred the money back to Mr. Thanh at the police headquarters of Hoa Binh ward, Hai Phong city.

It is known that in studying and working at the unit, comrade Hai is always dedicated, responsible, not afraid of difficulties, actively cultivates, trains, completes well all assigned tasks, and is trusted by friends, comrades and teammates.
