Hoa Binh seafood reaches output of over 5,500 tons

The Hoa Binh aquaculture industry recorded steady progress in the first 6 months of 2025, with an estimated output of 5,526 tons, making an important contribution to the local agricultural structure. The province currently has about 2,713 hectares of aquaculture area, including small ponds, rice fields and reservoirs; 5,094 fish cages are deployed in districts along large lakes such as Da Bac, Mai Chau, Tan Lac and Cao Phong.

During the period, 735 fish cages were granted farming codes and 14 farming facilities were granted VietGap certification with a scale of 1,067 fish cages, accounting for nearly 25% of the total number of cages in the province. The application of safe farming processes, strict control of feed, water environment and traceability not only ensures product quality but also helps expand the consumption market.

The province continues to encourage the development of organic fish farming, supporting households to link up in the value chain. By the end of 2025, the province aims to have at least 50% of fish cages with codes and over 30% of fish cages meeting VietGap standards, gradually building a safe and traceable Hoa Binh seafood brand.
