Thuy Trang speaks emotionally at Vietnam futsal team

On the afternoon of May 6, the Vietnamese women's futsal team completed their final training session, preparing for the opening match against Hong Kong (China) at the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship (Hohhot, China). Despite the chilly weather, the female players' spirits remained high as they got used to the match schedule to achieve their best performance.

Sharing before tomorrow's match (at 4 p.m., May 7), the 2024 Women's Golden Ball, Tran Thi Thuy Trang expressed her excitement when participating in the Asian futsal tournament for the first time: "I have participated in many Asian finals in grass football, but this is the first time I have participated as a futsal player.

I am very excited and proud to be here. Hopefully my teammates and I will have a good performance."

Thuy Trang actively practices with the Vietnamese women's futsal team before the opening match.

She admits that futsal is very different from 11-a-side football in terms of pitch and tactics, but thanks to the support of the coaching staff and teammates, she quickly adapted and improved every day.

Regarding the opponent Hong Kong (China), Thuy Trang commented: "I have never faced this team, but through watching the video , I can see that they have made a lot of progress. However, I believe that if the whole team plays at their best, we can absolutely win. I come to the tournament with pride as a Vietnamese woman, ready to compete with all my might and hope to contribute to the team's success."

On the same day, AFC honored captain Trinh Nguyen Thanh Hang as the first Vietnamese player to participate in three Asian Women's Futsal Championships (2015, 2018, 2025), creating a historic milestone for Vietnamese women's futsal.

According to the schedule, the Vietnamese women's futsal team is in Group B and will have their opening match at 5 p.m. tomorrow (May 7) against Hong Kong (China), then face the Philippines (May 9) and defending champion Iran (May 11).
