In the speech celebrating this year's Buddha's Birthday, Most Venerable Thich Quang Loc, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Tien Giang province, read the Buddha's Birthday Speech of Most Venerable Deputy Supreme Patriarch and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. The speech reads: “With boundless joy and respect, in the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), we joyfully welcome the great event of the United Nations Vesak 2025. This is not only an occasion for us to commemorate three great events in the life of Buddha Shakyamuni: Birth - Enlightenment - Nirvana, but also a day of global cultural and spiritual convergence, where humanity together looks towards the universal values of Buddhist wisdom: Compassion, wisdom and peace for today's world . On this occasion, I call on the Buddhist community around the world to diligently practice the Dharma together, nurture inner peace, spread the energy of compassion and wisdom, and make practical contributions to the common peace and happiness of all humanity.”
