Exhibition "Thousands of Miles of Mountains and Rivers" honors the beauty of the Fatherland through painting

On the afternoon of August 16, at Thai Hoc House, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam ( Hanoi ), the painting exhibition "Thousands of miles of mountains and rivers" officially opened.

The event was organized by the I Draw Club in collaboration with the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2.

With more than 150 works by 34 authors, the exhibition brings a diverse artistic space, honoring the majestic and poetic beauty of Vietnam's mountains and rivers, while spreading love for the homeland through the creative perspectives of contemporary artists.

Ms. Nguyen Lien Huong, Deputy Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, affirmed that the exhibition "Thousands of miles of mountains and rivers" is not only an artistic event, but also a bridge connecting souls, fostering love for the homeland and country in each citizen, especially the young generation.

Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam is honored to organize this event with the Drawing Club as a tribute to the Fatherland on the occasion of the 80th National Day.

The highlight of the exhibition is more than 150 multi-material works, from lacquer, silk, watercolor, wood carving, gouache, colored pencil to oil pastel created by many generations, from 6th grade students to artists in their 60s.

Founder of the I Paint Club, artist Dinh Quang Huy shared that each painting is a song praising the country, from mountains to islands, from countryside to city. The biggest common point is the passionate vibration before the colorful beauty of the Fatherland.

Viewers can see the majesty of the great forest in Gia Gia's paintings, the nostalgic silence through the library window in Luu Ngoc Linh's paintings, the brightness of Doan Linh Phuong, or the bustling craft village space in the works of Hai Anh and Phuong Thao.

The poetic scenes from the sea to the city appear in Tuyen Nguyen's paintings, the splendor of Doan Huong lacquer, or the softness in silk paintings of Nguyen Thi Thanh Luu, My Linh...

In particular, the series of works by 14 young artists made a strong impression with their innocence and purity. Young artist Pham Khanh Chi, author of the painting “Red sails catching the wind in Ha Long Bay”, confided: “I painted this painting because I love the sea, love the red sails like big dreams, flying high above beautiful Ha Long Bay.”

Those sails also symbolize the aspirations and beliefs of today's young generation.

The exhibition received the support of many brands, including Takeyo - Gold Sponsor. Ms. Truong Kim Lien, representative of Takeyo said: "We believe that art is a priceless source of inspiration. Accompanying the I Draw Club for many years is our way of contributing to spreading love for our homeland and country through painting."

The event also received support from many other units such as Fleur de Lys Hospitality and Nha Vien, demonstrating the strong influence of the exhibition.

Not only stopping at displaying, the exhibition “Thousand Miles of Mountains and Rivers” also has a series of workshops in the spirit of the National Concert every weekend. Rich experiential activities such as engraving “Symbols of Vietnam,” drawing Bodhi leaves, drawing “Chung khuc hoan ca” notebook, lacquer workshop “Tinh trung,” or making “Ngân nam chuyen truyen” (a thousand-year-old story) figurines will bring interesting creative moments for all ages.

The exhibition “Thousands of Miles of Mountains and Rivers” is the biggest annual activity of the I Draw Club, following the success of resounding exhibitions such as “I Draw Hanoi” and “Colorful Dreams.”

Not only held in Hanoi, this Club also brings art to many localities such as Phu Tho, Ho Chi Minh City... through creative camps and exhibitions.

With the mission of “Art for the Community,” the I Draw Club aims to spread painting to all classes, creating opportunities for anyone – from children to adults – to be able to hold a brush and create. The philosophy “Everyone can draw” is the driving force for the Club to persevere in making art a precious spiritual gift to society.

The exhibition “Thousands of Miles of Mountains and Rivers” is open to the public from August 16 to September 3, 2025 at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, promising to become a meaningful cultural and artistic destination in celebration of the 80th anniversary of National Day./.
