On October 12th, the second "Relay Race" to raise funds for underprivileged cancer patients nationwide was organized in Hanoi by K Hospital in collaboration with the Bright Tomorrow Foundation and sponsor Apollo Care (part of the Apollo Group), with the participation of nearly 3,000 athletes.
This is the second year that K Hospital has launched the "Relay Race" with the aim of raising funds to support poor cancer patients, helping them reduce the financial burden of treatment and spreading love, optimism, and companionship to help them have confidence in their treatment.
From 5 a.m., nearly 3,000 athletes gathered and participated in a race around West Lake, competing in three distances: 3km, 5km, and 10km. Individuals could show their support for patients through various means, such as: registering to participate in a suitable race to raise funds for patients; or making direct donations through the "Bright Tomorrow Fund" account.
Professor Le Van Quang - Director of K Hospital shared that the race is not just an ordinary sporting event organized by the hospital and other units, but a long journey that ignites hope, connects love, and spreads positive energy to cancer patients.
All proceeds from the race, as well as donations from benefactors, will be announced and transferred directly to the Bright Tomorrow Fund to be shared with underprivileged cancer patients nationwide.

Ms. Vu Hoang Anh (56 years old, Hanoi), who has been receiving treatment for breast cancer at the Internal Medicine Department 6, K Hospital for over 3 years, enthusiastically participated in the race for the second time.
“I became involved with running races around the time I finished my inpatient treatment at the hospital. For the past three years, my health has stabilized significantly, and I've participated in many races to improve my health and feel more relaxed after each run. My fellow patients and I connect with each other and participate in races; everyone is happy and comfortable. I've been a participant in the 'Relay Race' for two years and I'm sure I'll be a loyal athlete for many more years. I strive to train myself to become stronger, and I always believe that I will overcome and conquer cancer,” shared Ms. Hoang Anh.
At the race, the Organizing Committee presented gifts to the best athletes participating in the 3km, 5km, and 10km distances. In addition, the total amount of over 900 million VND raised was also sent to the Bright Tomorrow Fund to support patients.
In addition, responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front , K Hospital has contributed 300 million VND to share with people severely affected by typhoons No. 10 and 11.
During the program, the leaders of K Hospital also directly visited and encouraged some cancer patients who attended the event.
The race is not only a healthy sporting activity that spreads positive energy and a spirit of fitness, but also a journey of love and sharing, a bridge connecting loving hearts to poor cancer patients, helping them gain more faith and strength to overcome all difficulties in their treatment journey.
The support and sharing of each individual will help empower patients who are battling illness every day.
The first "Empower Run" fundraising race for cancer patients was held in December 2024 with over 1,500 participants, raising more than 546 million VND to support 102 underprivileged cancer patients.
