The drawing immediately caused a stir in the fan community when it witnessed for the first time the dream meeting between two iconic characters of the Japanese comic village: Doraemon and Conan Edogawa.
On account X, the crew of the anime Doraemon shared: "Happy birthday Doraemon and 55th anniversary of the manga's birth!
This is part of a special tribute project where famous artists in the industry send messages and drawings to Doraemon on the occasion of his birthday.
Among the tribute works, Gosho Aoyama's illustration attracted the most attention when it depicted Doraemon standing next to Conan in a familiar style.
Conan and Doraemon, two childhood icons meet
Doraemon in the picture has a gentle face, surprisingly long legs and a confident posture, while Conan next to him looks small and smart - just like the inherent personality of the shrunken detective.
Just a few hours after being posted, the article received tens of thousands of shares and enthusiastic comments. Many excited fans called this a "legendary crossover" between two childhood icons.

In addition, Doraemon's official X page also revealed that artist Rumiko Takahashi - author of Urusei Yatsura and Inuyasha - also participated in this campaign with a version of Doraemon with his own unique drawing style, continuing to excite fans.
One user commented: "Doraemon and Conan appearing in the same frame, what a childhood dream!" Another wrote: "I used to suspect that Conan was shorter than Doraemon (136cm), turns out it's true!".
Some humorous comments also quickly spread: "Doraemon looks more stylish than usual", "Why are Doraemon's legs so long?".
Gosho Aoyama's participation in this tribute project has special meaning, because Detective Conan and Doraemon are both "monuments" of Japanese manga, having contributed to shaping popular comic culture for many generations.
