The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports , Hai Ba Trung Ward People's Committee, Thong Nhat Park Company... held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the Vietnam Love Heart symbol on October 12.
The symbolic block to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the twinning of Hanoi - Hue - Ho Chi Minh City (October 8, 1960 - October 8, 2025) and the 71st anniversary of the capital takeover (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2025) is located inside Thong Nhat Park on Le Duan Street.
Thong Nhat Park adds symbol connecting 3 regions
The artwork was designed and executed by artist Nguyen Thu Thuy - author of the Ceramic Road along the Red River in Hanoi and the Ceramic Flag in Truong Sa.
Since the ceramic art project Mirror House in Thong Nhat Park completed in 2017 (winning a silver medal at the 2018 A'Design Awards & Competition), artist Thu Thuy has always been passionate about projects to beautify corners in Thong Nhat Park.
Because this park is a very meaningful public work created by the people of the capital with public labor contributions to express the strong aspiration for national reunification in the 1960s.

Artist Thu Thuy designed the Vietnamese Love Heart symbol block with a bronze drum and a dove of peace on both sides of the symbolic text block.
She said the bronze drum is placed in the heart of a stylized dove representing the Vietnamese people's desire for peace.
On the sides of the word Vietnam are the geometric patterns of bronze drums. On the surface of the word Vietnam are familiar images of natural landscapes and architectural heritages representing the rich history of the three regions of North - Central - South.
The Northern representative has typical architectural images of the thousand-year-old capital Hanoi: Khue Van Cac, One Pillar Pagoda, Hanoi flagpole, Opera House, Long Bien Bridge, History Museum, National Assembly House, Hanoi Museum, Military History Museum.
There are also images of Ha Long Bay and Mu Cang Chai terraced fields.
The Central region's representative has typical architectural images of Hue city: Hue Imperial City, Dong Ba market, Truong Tien bridge and Da Nang city administrative center, Ba Na Hills Golden bridge, Hoi An ancient town, Japanese Covered Bridge, Po Klong Garai Cham tower.
Representing the South are typical architectural images of Ho Chi Minh City: the City People's Committee building, Nha Rong port, Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, Ben Thanh market, Bitexco building... and river scenes of the West.
The heart block placed in front of the word Vietnam is made up of thousands of rice-shaped ceramic tiles and hundreds of peach and apricot blossom petals, in which the bright red peach blossoms are combined to form the shape of a map of Vietnam.
