Tien Linh and other stars join Ho Chi Minh City Police

Ho Chi Minh City Police recruited a series of notable names, including striker Nguyen Tien Linh, aiming for the 2025/26 V.League season with a completely new look.

After parting ways with Becamex TP.HCM, striker Nguyen Tien Linh officially joined CA TP.HCM, marking a major turning point in the career of the 2024 Vietnam Golden Ball. This is considered the most sensational deal in the reconstruction of the police force before the 2025/26 V.League season.

Not only Tien Linh, CA TP.HCM also recruited a series of quality contracts. The most notable of which is Samuel Bastien. The former Congo international used to play in Serie A, the Premier League and top Belgian clubs. He was also part of the Burnley squad that won the Championship in the 2022/23 season to win a ticket to play in the Premier League. The midfielder born in 1996 is expected to significantly increase the quality of CA TP.HCM's midfield.

In addition to Bastien, the Thong Nhat Stadium team also added center back Matheus Santos, a 1.86 meter tall “rock” from Brazil. This player has played for many traditional teams in the samba country, promising to solidify the defense.

Not only upgrading the force, the police team also changed the coaching staff. Former player Le Huynh Duc - who had a period of time attached to the team during its glorious period - was appointed as head coach. Meanwhile, coach Phung Thanh Phuong, due to not meeting the qualification requirements, will step back to take on the role of assistant. The new coaching staff also includes many veteran faces of Ho Chi Minh City football.
