Early morning of August 8, Thai midfielder Erawan Garnier of Olympique Lyonnais Club (France) shone brightly at the Tournoi Europeen U21 tournament taking place in France.
The Thai-French player scored in two consecutive matches, helping Lyon's U21 team finish the tournament in 5th place overall.
Notably, Erawan's two "victims" were top European teams. The Thai midfielder scored against Real Sociedad (Spain) and French giant PSG.
Although it is only a tournament for the U21 team, scoring against the top names in Europe will help Erawan gain more confidence. Thai fans are also very proud to have a player shine in Europe.
Thairath newspaper also praised the talent of this young midfielder. At the same time, he was rated as one of the most promising young talents in Thai football at present.
Erawan Garnier, born January 5, 2006, is a versatile player who can play as a midfielder and full-back.
The midfielder has a French father and a Thai mother. He started his career playing for local team Savigny. In 2019, he joined the Lyon (France) youth academy.
After good performances at U19 level, he was promoted to Lyon's reserve team to play in the Championnat National (French 5th division).
In March 2024, the player born in 2006 was first called up to the Thailand U20 team in Buriram. He was then called up to the Thailand U23 team to participate in the 2024 AFC U23 Championship as the youngest member of the team.
Recently, Erawan was unable to join Thailand U23 to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship last July because the tournament was not included in FIFA Days.
Thai fans are currently waiting for confirmation on whether he will participate in the 2026 Asian Cup qualifiers next September.
