Midfielder Hendrio Araujo officially has Vietnamese nationality

The 31-year-old midfielder possesses good personal skills, sharp vision, dangerous finishing and modern attacking football tactics. Hendrio Araujo used to be a leading pillar of Nam Dinh Club. He and Nguyen Xuan Son (Rafaelson) formed an effective attacking duo, contributing greatly to the miracle of Nam Dinh Club winning the V-League championship for two consecutive years.

After achieving success with the Southern team, Hoang Hen moved to Hanoi FC in the middle of the 2024-2025 season but has not been registered to play in the 2025-2026 season. This player signed a 3-year contract with the Capital team.

In the past 4 years, Hendrio has scored 29 goals and had 32 assists for teammates while playing for Nam Dinh and Binh Dinh. Most of Hendrio's assists were directed towards Nguyen Xuan Son.

A few months ago, coach Kim Sang Sik and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) issued a document recognizing Hendrio as a special talent who can contribute to the Vietnam national team. However, this midfielder still has to wait until early 2026 to be called up to the national team.

Hoang Hen has played in Vietnam for more than 5 years and the naturalization procedure for him has been promoted by Hanoi FC since the end of the 2024-2025 season, but he has only been officially naturalized at this time, so the plan to register him to play for Hanoi FC as a domestic player at the beginning of the 2025-2026 season must be postponed until phase 2 to begin.

Hoang Hen's successful naturalization is making Vietnamese football experts excited, because it can strengthen the Vietnamese team. In particular, the combination of the Xuan Son - Hoang Hen duo will strengthen the Vietnamese team's attack in the coming time, especially in the second leg against Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers in March next year. In 5 years playing in Vietnam, Hoang Hen has scored a total of 29 goals and 31 assists, and can play well as an attacking midfielder or on the wing.

In the coming time, the Vietnamese team will likely have a series of other naturalized players such as Patrik Le Giang ( Ho Chi Minh City Police), Janclesio, Geovane Magno (Ninh Binh), Rimario (Thanh Hoa) and Gustavo (Da Nang).
