Identifying the role of the transport system as a step ahead to promote socio -economic development, in recent years, Tien Yen district has allocated resources to prioritize investment and implementation of many transport projects. These projects have changed the appearance of urban areas as well as rural mountainous areas, contributing to improving the lives of local people.

Dong Rui is a coastal island commune of Tien Yen district, the whole commune has 4 villages with over 1,000 people. Implementing the new rural construction program, in recent years, a series of transport infrastructure works on the island have received synchronous investment.
Typically, the traffic route connecting the island with National Highway 18A was previously narrow, the road surface was concreted but degraded and difficult to travel. In response to the urgent needs of the people, the People's Committee of Tien Yen district has renovated and upgraded the road with a total length of 1.4km, the road surface width of 8.5m, ensuring the travel and trade needs of people on the island with the mainland.
Along with the road connecting the island commune with National Highway 18A, the commune and village roads on Dong Rui island commune have also been paid attention to and invested in synchronously by the Province and Tien Yen district. Up to now, Dong Rui has completed 4 commune roads, 10 village and hamlet roads with a total length of 17.81km. Mr. Nguyen Van Mat in Trung village (Dong Rui commune, Tien Yen district) happily said: The roads are paved with asphalt, the lighting system, drainage, and trees are synchronized, creating a new look and vitality for Dong Rui island commune. A surveillance camera system is also installed to ensure security, order, and traffic safety. We are happy and excited about the changes in our homeland. In addition to the seafaring profession, people have now boldly invested in production and business. Many models such as aquaculture; raising sea ducks for eggs, and eco -tourism have created livelihoods for people.

For Tien Yen district, especially communes in remote areas, connecting traffic infrastructure is very difficult due to the complex mountainous terrain. However, thanks to the drastic participation of local Party committees and authorities and the consensus of the people in donating land and trees to build roads. Many dynamic connecting traffic routes have been completed and have brought about great efficiency. A typical example is the traffic route connecting the center of Dai Duc commune to the center of Dai Thanh commune (old). Previously, the narrow road winding through the mountain slopes from the center of Dai Duc commune to the center of Dai Thanh commune was over 40km long. Now, it has been renovated, the shortcut through the saddle of Cong Troi mountain is shortened to only 7.5km. The project has a total investment of 153 billion VND, with additional provincial capital, aiming to implement the overall program of socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas and the district budget balances its own investment. Ms. Chieu Moc Xenh, Khe Lac village (Dai Thanh commune, Tien Yen district) happily shared: Exchanges and trade between people in Khe Lac and Khe Luc villages are also more frequent because the distance has been shortened. Agricultural and forestry products made by people are easy to sell, increasing income.
Implementing the program of building new rural areas, in recent years, the infrastructure of Tien Yen district has been invested relatively synchronously, opening up new development space. The whole district has over 440km of roads, of which over 16km are national highways and provincial roads, 30km of district roads and the remaining nearly 245km of village roads, alleys, and inner-field roads. All routes are invested with asphalt or concrete, and are regularly maintained to serve people's travel.

Identifying that expanding and upgrading roads will be a "lever" to help the locality develop, in 2024, Tien Yen district continues to prioritize allocating resources to upgrade and expand 2 more key projects including: Renovation, upgrading and expanding the road from National Highway 18 to Pac Sui waterfall and the project to upgrade and expand the road from Dong Ngu commune to Dai Duc commune. In particular, the project to upgrade and expand the road from National Highway 18 to Pac Sui waterfall will contribute to exploiting the potential and advantages of natural landscapes, attracting investment and tourism, contributing to improving the lives of people in the area. The project, with a total investment of 75 billion VND, is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
According to the planning of Quang Ninh province for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 and the national road network planning approved by the Prime Minister, Quang Ninh province will have two new expressways: Noi Bai - Bac Ninh - Ha Long Expressway (CT 09) and Tien Yen (Quang Ninh) - Lang Son - Cao Bang Expressway (CT 10). When the CT 10 expressway is formed, it will create a synchronous and modern traffic infrastructure system, opening up opportunities and further development space for Tien Yen district in particular and Quang Ninh province in general.
