The technological superiority of Russian weapons

The use of guided missiles launched from helicopters by the Russian army has become one of the key tactical innovations in the special military operation in Ukraine. Accordingly, modern helicopters such as the Mi-28N "night hunter" and the Ka-52 "flying crocodile" are equipped with high-tech systems that significantly increase their combat effectiveness.

The main advantage of guided missiles is high accuracy. Russian helicopters use Ataka and Vikhr-1 missiles, which have a range of up to 10km. These missiles are equipped with laser guidance systems, providing high accuracy and resistance to electronic interference.

The Vikhr-1 missile is designed to destroy armored targets such as tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. It is capable of penetrating armor up to 900mm thick, making the Vikhr-1 more effective in attacking heavy equipment. Meanwhile, the Ataka missile has universal applications and can be used effectively in missions to destroy both armored vehicles and fortified enemy positions.

An important addition to the guided missile arsenal is the latest LMUR missile (Izdeliye-305). This missile is designed for use on Mi-28NM and Ka-52M helicopters and has significantly improved characteristics compared to previous models. The LMUR missile has a range of up to 15 km and is equipped with a homing warhead, allowing it to automatically capture and track the target after launch. This ensures high accuracy even during complex maneuvers.

Combat operations and application examples

During the special military operation in Ukraine, Russian helicopters are actively using guided missile weapons to perform various combat missions. Not so long ago, Ka-52 helicopters destroyed a convoy of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Vikhr-1 missiles, disrupting the enemy's attack and ensuring the security of Russian positions. The high accuracy of the missiles will help the Russian army to strike effectively from the first shot, thereby reducing the risk of enemy retaliation.

In the Donetsk region, Mi-28N helicopters used Ataka missiles to destroy fortified positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The attack destroyed a number of bunkers and fortified points, allowing Russian forces to advance and seize strategic positions.

The LMUR (also known as Izdeliye 305) has also proven its effectiveness in combat operations. In one of the battles in southern Ukraine, Ka-52M helicopters used the Izdeliye 305 to destroy a fortified enemy command post. Thanks to its high accuracy and powerful warhead, the missile destroyed the target with minimal collateral damage, avoiding civilian casualties.

These examples have demonstrated the effectiveness of guided missile weapons in modern conflict.
