Continue to do a good job of fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue in the last 6 months of 2025

On the afternoon of July 17, the Provincial Steering Committee for Fire Prevention and Rescue organized an assessment of the results of the first 6 months of the year and the direction and tasks for the last 6 months of 2025. Comrade Vu Van Dien, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Colonel Hoang Ngoc Huynh, Deputy Director of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Ministry of Public Security, co-chaired the conference.

In the first 6 months of the year, fire prevention and fighting and rescue work in the province continued to have many positive changes. There were 49 fires and explosions in the province (11 cases less than the same period last year); 5 people were injured. Most of the fires were promptly extinguished, minimizing damage to the state and people.

The propaganda and building of the mass movement for fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue continued to be focused on, in the direction of applying technology and improving practicality. The whole province has established volunteer firefighting teams; maintained 1,567 models of "Fire Prevention and Fighting Safety Interfamily Teams", 514 models of "Public Fire Fighting Points". The inspection and handling of violations in the field of fire prevention and fighting were carried out seriously and closely; thereby discovering many shortcomings and limitations, promptly urging, guiding to overcome, and imposing fines of 1.5 billion VND for nearly 1,600 violations.

At the Conference, Colonel Hoang Ngoc Huynh, Deputy Director of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department - Ministry of Public Security , disseminated and thoroughly grasped the basic contents and new points of the 2024 Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Law and Decree No. 105/2025/ND-CP of the Government, which has just taken effect from July 1. These are two important legal documents, with comprehensive reforms, suitable for practical requirements, with many breakthrough contents. In particular, the regulations on design appraisal and acceptance of fire prevention and fighting works have been adjusted, the authority has been clearly assigned between construction agencies, the Police, and inspection agencies; clearly stipulating the plan to handle works and facilities that do not meet fire prevention and fighting requirements but have been put into use before July 1, 2025, assigning the Provincial People's Committee to announce the list, propose solutions to improve safety in accordance with reality....

Affirming that fire prevention and fighting is a key task and responsibility of the entire political system, directly related to the lives and properties of people and businesses, Mr. Vu Van Dien, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the efforts of sectors, units and localities in implementing fire prevention and fighting and rescue work in the first 6 months of the year.

To continue effectively implementing fire prevention and fighting and rescue work in the last 6 months of the year, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested units to regularly disseminate and seriously implement the Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council and newly issued legal documents on fire prevention and fighting; strengthen propaganda and dissemination of fire prevention and fighting laws, provide guidance on fire fighting and escape skills; the construction sector and the People's Committees at the commune level receive and effectively implement new tasks from the Police force.

He also assigned relevant departments and branches to carry out procedures for investment in purchasing equipment, vehicles, and fire prevention infrastructure, especially arranging more urban fire hydrants. Localities need to overcome existing problems; do a good job of preparing forces according to the "4 on-site" motto, proactively develop plans for natural disaster prevention, search and rescue during this year's storm season.
