Information and Communication Subcommittee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians holds its second session

On the morning of June 23, at the headquarters of the National Assembly agencies, the Information and Propaganda Subcommittee of the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians held its second meeting. Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office - Assistant to the National Assembly Chairman Pham Thai Ha, Head of the Information and Propaganda Subcommittee chaired the meeting.

Overview of the meeting

Attending the meeting were Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Le Hai Binh, Deputy Head of the Information and Communication Subcommittee; members of the Information and Communication Subcommittee of the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office, Assistant to the National Assembly Chairman Pham Thai Ha said that on May 17, 2023, the Information and Communication Subcommittee of the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians held its first meeting. After that meeting, the Working Group studied and received the opinions of the delegates, completed the draft Project, the Project Implementation Plan and the Assignment of tasks to the Subcommittee members, and submitted it for direction from the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Head of the Conference Organizing Committee.

In the coming time, the Information and Propaganda Subcommittee will issue a Project to organize information and propaganda work on the Conference, a Plan to implement the Project and assign tasks to the Subcommittee members. Relevant agencies and units will develop a detailed Plan to implement the assigned tasks in the Project, ensuring timely, complete and clear propaganda of the Conference's content to the Vietnamese people at home and abroad and international friends.

According to the draft Project for Propaganda of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, the information and propaganda work for the Conference is divided into 3 stages before, during and after the end of the Conference. The content focuses on promoting the purpose and significance of the Vietnamese National Assembly hosting the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians. It clearly states that Vietnam's hosting of this important Conference demonstrates the deep concern of the leaders of the Party, State and National Assembly for Vietnamese youth and young people; strengthens the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and important partners, especially parliamentarians and young leaders of countries; is an opportunity to promote to international friends the image of Vietnamese youth, the Vietnamese youth movement in particular and the country and people of Vietnam in general. Focus on promoting the preparation work for the Conference of the Vietnamese National Assembly.

The draft project requires strengthening external information and propaganda about the Conference, about the message of the country and people of Vietnam being friendly, dynamic and creative to IPU members and international friends. Fully and promptly propagandize the activities of the Conference, specifically: the opening ceremony, the first plenary session, thematic discussions, and the reception of the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam. Continue to inform about thematic discussions and the second plenary session. The closing ceremony, the cultural exchange night of young parliamentarians. Bilateral contact activities of the National Assembly leaders, sideline events of the Conference. Visiting models of socio -economic development of youth related to the Conference theme, exchanging with youth combined with visiting famous places, historical and cultural relics in some localities. In particular, boldly and prominently propagating the message of the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam at the Conference; widely disseminate the outstanding results of the Conference, emphasizing the Conference Declaration with a strong message, bearing the mark of Vietnam.

At the meeting, delegates discussed many opinions on the Project to promote the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians and the coordination of work implementation. The majority of opinions in the meeting agreed with the draft Project to promote the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, and the tasks were scientifically assigned.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Le Hai Binh, Deputy Head of the Information and Propaganda Subcommittee, stated that the information and propaganda work for this conference received much attention and focus from the Organizing Committee. Currently, the work is being implemented actively, urgently, responsibly, achieving the set requirements.

The Deputy Head of the Information and Propaganda Subcommittee stated that, however, because this is a major event of international stature, with many expectations, it is necessary to assign tasks more clearly and in detail. The Deputy Head of the Information and Propaganda Subcommittee suggested that agencies and units, based on the Propaganda Project, soon develop a detailed Plan to implement the assigned tasks.

In addition, the Deputy Head of the Information and Propaganda Subcommittee said that it is necessary to clearly define the scale of the event, this is the largest multilateral foreign affairs event held in Vietnam this year, agencies need to clearly identify the great responsibility, to have appropriate ways of doing things, mobilizing resources, means, and platforms to do well the task of information and propaganda, bringing a good impression of this event to the international media.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office and Assistant to the National Assembly Chairman Pham Thai Ha stated that the Information and Propaganda Subcommittee will fully absorb the opinions and complete the draft Project, in the spirit of careful and thorough preparation.

Emphasizing that the success of the Conference has a great contribution from the information and propaganda work, the Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office, Assistant to the National Assembly Chairman proposed to clarify the role of the Press Department, the Department of External Information - Ministry of Information and Communications; People's Representative Newspaper, Vietnam National Assembly Television as one of the key press agencies, actively coordinating with the Ministry of Information and Communications to promote the message of the Conference, the message of Vietnam to international friends. The Information - Propaganda Subcommittee actively coordinated with other Subcommittees in the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians to disseminate information, programs, and update the content that needs to be informed and propagated to the press agencies.
