Huyen Khong Son Thuong Pagoda is located halfway up the mountain, surrounded by green pine forests in Cham village, Huong Ho ward, Hue city (Thua Thien-Hue), is a destination for those who want to find some peace and temporarily forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
From the center of Hue City, follow the direction of Thien Mu Pagoda to the southwest about 10 km to the foot of Van Tung Son Mountain, follow the winding concrete roads, halfway up the mountain, visitors will see Huyen Khong Son Thuong Pagoda appear.
Huyen Khong Son Thuong Pagoda is about 10,000m² wide, under the large mountain ranges, built in 1989.
As soon as you step into the temple, you will immediately feel the fresh air from the majestic nature. Strolling under the trees, taking a deep breath, listening to the chirping of insects is the most interesting way to enjoy the peace at this mountain temple.
With an area of about 10,000m², the pagoda is planned to include two main areas: the outer courtyard and the inner courtyard. Of which, the outer courtyard is where worship ceremonies and Buddhist rituals are held, while the inner courtyard will be for monks to practice and live.
The temple is surrounded by green pine forests and 5 large lakes.
The outer courtyard of Huyen Khong Son Thuong Pagoda is designed in a liberal style, blending into nature with a grass garden and many green old trees. Every day, monks come here to meditate, discuss and recite poetry. The pagoda is also surrounded by a large lake system, divided into areas, like small islands with bridges across.
The architectural space in the main hall and the temple's house area is also very special, because it is not majestically painted with gold, the temple has a very pure Vietnamese architectural style, simple and gentle...
Many tourists come to the temple, strolling under the trees to forget all their worries and troubles.
The temple grounds are connected by small bridges.
Water lilies are grown in abundance, blooming on the lakes in the temple.
Every day, the pagoda welcomes Buddhists and tourists from far away. Ms. Doan Thanh Thao (32 years old, a tourist from Nghe An ) traveled more than 500 km to Hue to visit Huyen Khong Son Thuong Pagoda. "The pagoda is located on a high mountain, so it gives me a very different feeling. Anyone who sets foot here can feel the wonderfully fresh and cool air. The chirping of birds, the quietness, the poetic scenery... seem to hold people's feet", Ms. Thao said.
The temple's outer courtyard blends with nature and is a place for monks to practice.
In the temple, there are still some areas reserved for monks and Buddhists to practice, so visitors will be limited.
The ideal time to capture the magical scenery of this temple is at dawn.
