Search and collect 88 martyrs' remains

In phase XXIV, dry season 2024 - 2025, An Giang province searched for and collected 88 martyrs' remains, of which 64 were collected in Cambodia, 24 were collected in the province, and the identities of 2 martyrs' remains were identified.

Of the 64 martyrs' remains searched and collected in Cambodia, Team K92 searched for 13 remains (Kampot province: 10 remains, Koh Kong: 2 remains, Shihanouk: 1 remains). Team K93 searched for 51 remains (Takeo province: 15 remains, Kampong Speu: 36 remains).

During the implementation of the mission, the agencies and units coordinated well in military foreign affairs and mass mobilization work; organized visits and presented gifts to the Cambodian government, armed forces and people worth more than 545 million VND.

Based on archival documents, armed forces and people provided, the unit has 183 information about martyrs' graves with over 175 search and collection locations in Cambodia and the province. Conducted mechanical and manual excavation of over 27,560 holes, equivalent to 36,000 ^m3 of soil.

In the 25th phase, dry season 2025 - 2026, Team K92 and K93 will grasp 130 pieces of information about martyrs' graves, about 262 remains, of which 88 pieces of information, with 192 remains of martyrs, were grasped in Cambodia, and 42 pieces of information, with 70 remains of martyrs, were grasped in An Giang province.

Speaking at the conference, Colonel Cao Minh Tam, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, member of Steering Committee 515 of An Giang province, requested units to continue to promote the search and collection of martyrs' remains and identify the remains of martyrs with missing information; identifying this as an important political task to lead and closely direct the situation and new task requirements.

At the same time, strengthen leadership and direction in the search and collection of martyrs' remains and identification of martyrs' remains with missing information with the highest political determination.

Colonel Cao Minh Tam requested officers and soldiers of Team K92 and K93 to continue to uphold the spirit of initiative and responsibility in overcoming all difficulties, while performing their duties, doing mass mobilization, propaganda, and mobilizing to collect information about martyrs and martyrs' graves; strictly implementing military foreign affairs when performing tasks in Cambodia...

On this occasion, the Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 12 individuals with outstanding achievements in carrying out the task of searching for and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the wars in Cambodia and in the country during the 24th period, dry season 2024 - 2025.
