News, pepper price forecast tomorrow 7/22/2025
Domestic market on July 22, 2025
Based on the record on July 21, 2025, domestic pepper prices are expected to remain stable on July 22, fluctuating between VND 137,000 - 140,000/kg, similar to the price of the previous trading session. Domestic supply is currently scarce due to a decrease in the 2024 crop output, especially in key regions such as Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
However, purchasing power in the domestic market has not shown any signs of a breakthrough, mainly because businesses and traders are waiting for positive signals from major export markets such as China and Europe. Experts say that domestic pepper prices may continue to fluctuate within a narrow range in the short term, but the potential for price increases still exists if export demand improves in the fourth quarter of 2025.
International market on July 22, 2025
In the international market, pepper prices are forecast to remain high on July 22, 2025, similar to the trend recorded on July 21. According to the International Pepper Community (IPC), black and white pepper prices in major exporting countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brazil have recently fluctuated stably, with black pepper at around 6,400 - 8,900 USD/ton and white pepper at 9,600 - 11,750 USD/ton, depending on quality and origin. Specifically, the export prices of Vietnamese black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l are at 6,400 USD/ton and 6,700 USD/ton, respectively, while white pepper is around 9,600 USD/ton.
Global demand, especially from major markets such as the US, EU, and China, is expected to increase slightly in the third and fourth quarters of 2025 as importers begin a new purchasing cycle. However, pressure from low inventories and price competition among exporting countries may cause international pepper prices to fluctuate slightly. Vietnamese exporters are advised to adjust their selling prices in line with import prices to avoid risks, while taking advantage of opportunities from stable consumption demand to increase export turnover. According to preliminary statistics from the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), pepper export turnover in the first 17 days of July 2025 reached 70.3 million USD with 10,808 tons, showing positive growth potential in the second half of 2025.
