The Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway Project has a total length of about 52.159km. Of which, the section from Ring Road 3 to Khanh Van Bridge runs along the existing DT.747B road for about 6.5km, remaining in its current state. The section from Khanh Van Bridge to the end of the route is 45.659km long, with a scale of 04 complete lanes, a road surface width of 25.5m; a design speed of 100km/h. The route includes 04 interchanges, 21 bridges on the expressway, 05 direct overpasses and 14 residential tunnels.

Reporting to the Provincial Party Secretary at the survey, leaders of the localities: Tan Uyen, Bac Tan Uyen, Phu Giao, Bau Bang said that the localities have organized meetings with the people to implement the work of land acquisition, compensation, and site clearance; conducted measurements to determine the area of recovered land; selected a land valuation unit. Currently, the localities are continuing to implement the work of land acquisition, compensation, site clearance; and resettlement arrangements for the people.
Provincial leaders also surveyed the progress of the project to dredge and reinforce Suoi Cai from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river; urban development area No. 5 in Tan Uyen city.
The project to dredge and reinforce Suoi Cai from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river is invested by the Project Management Board of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector, with a total capital source from the central budget and the provincial budget of about 5,892 billion VND.

The project has a total route length of about 18,950km, including the main Suoi Cai route to Tong Bang bridge and the secondary Suoi Cai route to Ba Kien bridge. The project aims to drain rainwater and treated wastewater for a basin of 22,503 hectares including industrial parks, clusters, urban land, agriculture and other land in 10 wards of Tan Uyen city, contributing to environmental improvement, urban beautification, and laying the foundation for the construction of 37.4km of regional roads.
The Ho Chi Minh – Thu Dau Mot – Chon Thanh Expressway will run parallel to the Suoi Cai project for about 6.8km, then intersect with the Suoi Cai project with a bridge over the stream about 318.2m long.

According to the Provincial Agriculture and Rural Development Project Management Board, by the end of 2024, the project's site clearance and compensation work will reach 95%, and the rest will be completed in the first quarter of 2025. The construction volume of the package from Tho Ut bridge to Ben San bridge will reach about 40%; the remaining construction packages are continuing to be implemented.
Regarding the Urban Area No. 5 project in Tan Uyen City, this is an area where two large industrial park projects are being implemented, namely Nam Tan Uyen Industrial Park and Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park III. Agricultural land (rubber land) accounts for about 50% of the total area of the project planning area.
Provincial Party Secretary requested to study the connection of traffic infrastructure with planning of urban, commercial and service areas along the highway axis.
Through the survey and listening to reports from departments and branches, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi emphasized that the Ho Chi Minh - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project is a key project that the Government and the Prime Minister are very interested in. The project will connect with the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway, connecting the Southeast with the Central Highlands. Therefore, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that the Secretaries and Chairmen of localities pay special attention, closely monitor, and focus on compensation and site clearance work, ensuring resettlement for people, and choosing the most beneficial resettlement plan for people.
At the same time, research on connecting traffic infrastructure with planning of urban, commercial and service areas along the highway axis to open up new development spaces to attract high-quality labor to Binh Duong.
The Provincial Party Secretary requested that sectors and localities focus on speeding up progress and strive to start construction of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway right after the Lunar New Year to create new momentum and new motivation in the new year.
Regarding the project of dredging and reinforcing Suoi Cai, the Provincial Party Secretary requested to focus capital on the project, study the connection of canals and ditches on both sides of the stream to retain water, ensure ecology... strive to complete the project in 2025.
